I've done this with 28g 1.5m and I need it at atleast 1.2ohmz. Now when I did it, if you know to make 28g at that circumference, you need ALOT of wraps aka here's

a pic of 28g, at 1.29ohm wrapped on 1.5m on a kayfun, super long.

Now, can you have coils touch at all? I can't tell if these coils are touching, I want to make them on a 3m or 4m to make less coils ie. like this.

It's not an issue. Once you dry fire the coils a few times, the alumina (aluminum oxide) component of Kanthal wire - which is self-generating, protective oxide layer that is both thermally conductive and electrically resistive - develops, preventing the coils from shorting one to another, and from each wrap to the next.

This layer is easily identified - when you first dry fire, you get uneven heating - a few more taps on the button (along with what ever final coil compression work you do) - and the coils will start to glow from the hotter inside wraps, to the cooler outside wraps... this indicates the alumina layer is developing, and protecting the inner iron/chromium composition.

Awesome thanks! I just thought it'd short it out. In my head i was like why would it matter kanthal touching kanthal but seeing RIPs videos I mean no one is perfect but he said don't have them touch. But seeing that pic I see they are basically slightly kissing each other each coil, and it seems from the clean look of the build he knows or has been building coils for some time now in the pic.
