hey guys been lovin my reo & rm-2 for a long time and was wondering if anyone has tried a dual coil in the rm-2? I have a reo grand, 4 kayfuns, 4 gennys, 1 aqua, and 4 drippers. for the most part im a single coil guy but do run dual coils in the aqua(because you really need to). also from time to time run a dual coil in one of my kayfuns. also 1 of my drippers I do in dual coil. just wondering how the rm-2 would perform in dual coil mode and if many have done it. so before even thinking about drilling another airhole would like to hear comparisons to those who might have done it. thanks

I sometimes run duals on the same wick - parallel coils if you wish, which means there's no need to drill another airhole.

I started it because at the time all i had was 32g wire and i wanted lower Ω. In a regular configuration i'd not be a fan of it, because there's less room at the "back", so you'd have to run a microcoil there AND drill another airhole.

It's not impossible, but i'm not sure the benefits outweigh the hassle, compared to running a LP Reo and using a better atty for them.

you could do a parallel coil--I have one in my woodvil right now and actually really like it.

I have done parallel coils before in the rm-2 and they work pretty good. I think though true duals would perform completely different then the parallels because of the heat and air flow being dispersed. really just a curiosity more then a plan because im really happy with my regular set up but its about the only thing I haven't tried yet in the rm-2 & grand. thanks

Just stack 2 10 wrap 28g 1/16 micro coils in your RM2. Use shorter then short wicks then usual in both and position them to the center of your air hole.

I have my air hole drilled out to 5/64 via hand and a bit, it was super easy to do and the draw is perfect to me.

It'll come out to around 0.5 ohms and should work great if you can build tight coils.

See: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/reos-mods/529048-my-first-dual-coil-rm2-build.html - I vaped this coil for about 3 months, it was so pefect I only took it apart when I installed my SO kit. :)

That's exactly the build I use, it's fantastic!

I've done up to triple coils in the RM2. It was hard and delicate to get it right. The vape was a bit on the scorching side though. I've been running dual coils on one of my RM2s (one on top of each other, parallel) for a while now and the flavor is awesome.
was thinking about maybe trying that out first(both coils on one side) and I guess it would be close in performance to what I ultimately was thinking(one coil per side with an extra hole) but really am curious about what the exact performance would be with a traditional dual coil. somehow I think that having a coil on both sides with the extra air hole would be somewhat different just because of the position of the coils and air coming in directly from both sides.

looks good and might give that a go instead of possibly ruining my rm-2 by trying a coil per side and drilling
