When we say we exhale carbon dioxide that doesn't take into account various other gasses we exhale either, include water vapor. Does that 1-2% make you a liar?

LOL! Well, if I said. "I exhale NOTHING but carbon dioxide" that would be a lie. If I said, "I exhale carbon dioxide" with the 'among other gasses' implied, that would be the truth.

So, if someone says "e-cig vapor is NOTHING but water vapor" that would not be true. "Mostly water vapor" would be more accurate. And I have seen people say that e-cig vapor is *nothing* but water vapor both here and in comments sections of articles about e-cigs and such.

It creates a lot of water vapor for sure. Push the button for 3 seconds and watch what comes off an atty. Not much compared to what can be exhaled. Holding the vape in reduces the amount of water exhaled.

Try holding a lighter to that vapor, then tell me it's water.

So that's why I'm having sudden cravings for cheese. I thought it was my taste buds coming back...

Haha...too funny. I've been starting to research this myself. Been off analogs since 2004. On the gum, lozenges etc..I could flip the box over and there's the ingredients. I know the base of my fluids and nicotine content...I really would like to see specific ingredients on labels...at least on the ate of purchase...could render someone w horrible allergies in a pickle..

Feeling a bit "cheesy" myself. I've been in a lab and I've been a rat (kinda...well yeah..but..nevermind) and I spent 35 years being a pawn for Phillip Morris and others..so being a lab rat for vaping when it has been proven to be a less harmful alternative to smoking is fine with me. Something is going to kill you eventually...I just decided that it wasn't going to be cigarrettes.

100% water vapor--90% water vapor and some other stuff in there..who knows. All I know is I feel better..smell better and my non-smoking/vaping wife has no problem with me sitting at the ktchen table vaping. I'm better off for it and I'm sure that I'm not introducing anything harmful to her.

I could be wrong...I so often am...but I don't think so on this one.

Sorry, I thought you were talking about pushing th button for 3 seconds. I suppose my opinions about water content before inhalation have to do with a vid I saw of Zen & his rebuildable atty. in that vid it was pretty clear that juice vapors are flammable. Apologies for any confusion.

What you saw there was alcohol content burning off.
Many flavors are alcohol based and alcohol is used to thin thicker VG liquids.

maybe you can look for the answer into the FDA (Food and drugs association) that control all stuff about it, as I know the "vapor" is already measured, http://www.fda.gov/downloads/Drugs/ScienceResearch/UCM173250.pdfcould be useful for u, a bit technical but enough to demostrate that water vapor is only one part, obviusly the toxic sustances are nothing compare with the common cigarette :S

Bah. There was a thread about a year back similar to this... more on the topic of "what do we call it". Fog, Condensate, Mist, Vapor, anything but Smoke.

Mostly water vapor is close. Mix of water vapor and e-juice, closer.

I've seen people claim that there is no nicotine in the exhaled vapor because their bodies absorb it all. Complete crap. It simply can't work that way.

Now, when I said it's an expediency, I didn't mean it's an excuse to exaggerate. Sometimes you just get tired of explaining it... studies from the mid 1900's on PG fog reducing infections in hospitals, better than cigs, no combustion, common ingredients found in Fog Machines on stage, common food and cosmetic ingredients, etc.

As to harm? 2nd hand vape? Anybody's guess. Guesses are that it's A) much safer than smoke...fireplaces included, or exhaust from engines, or charcoal grills. Hell, even gas stoves emit stuff. Then there's B) dilution and quick settling. Who knows though. I'd rather be around vapers than smokers though, even if I tolerate both. I smoked for around 30 years, so I try not to be a jerk about it.

As to banning vaping outside, or in your own car.... complete B.S. and I hope they challenge the constitutionality of that one.
