Dungeons and Dragons, anyone?

I don't like video games (crazy, I know), but I looooooove old-school in-person gaming, especially D&D. Also just started Shadowrun.

I play at a gaming store weekly when not playing with some other friends at their houses- I feel like vaping would be embraced by that crowd but too shy to try.

I used to be big into AD&D 2nd edition when I was in high school, but kind of petered out when I went away to college.
I've actually been trying to talk a friend I used to play with into trying to get a game together, but no luck so far.
Too bad you're not in the Boston area...

I was MAJORLY into AD&D. I still have all of my books, and still read the novels regularly. I just don't have much time, and don't know any players in the area where I am now. Now, the last place I worked, my boss and his wife, me and my wife-at-the-time, and a bunch of other people would get together on a weekend, make sure we had enough food to last us so we didn't have to leave the house, make thousands of jello shots, and play alllllllllllll weekend. I rather miss that.

I was laid off today, I think I might head down to my local comic shop and see if they have a bulletin board for stuff like this. Me and friends played a lot in the Dark Sun and Spelljammer settings back in the day, and I can think of worse ways to spend my time while I'm unemployed. You can only spend so much time on the actual job hunt...

wednesday nights across the US in different gaming stores there are D&D encounters games- really easy to join a pickup game and they have all the stuff you would need (pregenerated characters, etc).
