I really wanted to like this unit but it's falling far short of my expectations :(. One of my batteries is DOA, no doubt about it. This isn't really a problem, more an annoyance since I can send it back for a new one. It's the loose, leaky carts that I am finding most troublesome and a total dealbreaker. I've had it come off in my mouth a handful of times. Why so loose?? The vapor is pretty good, but nothing more than I get out of my penstyle. I also don't think I'm into the manual switch, just personal preference. I don't want to press a button every time I take a drag. So as it stands, I'm considering sending the entire kit back and maybe getting a Pilot...or hell, maybe even a Screwdriver.

Looks like the problems are not solved after all.

I don't get it, if they really have an issue with producing good batteries, why not just outsource the whole damn thing? Its not like they can't afford it! They are selling the Dura at ridiculous prices and forcing their wholesalers to do the same! The same thing with the carts as well.

They have such a good thing going on with Janty that each time a new model comes out, the whole vaping community gets wind of it first hand. If they keep on screwing up like this, people are gonna start shunning them. Janty should find a new manufacturer.

Total d*mb*sses...

That is disappointing. :(

The cartridge leakage/looseness was a big problem associated with the original Dura. I just got my Dura-C, and the new cartridges I purchased with it fit snugly with no leakage. However, when I tried one of my old cartridges (purchased with my original Dura), the cartridge was loose and leaky.

Maybe you got an old set of cartridges.

Personally, I find that the Dura produces about as much vapor as my penstyle. The big difference that I find is that the vapor produced by the Dura tends to have more heft to it and is warmer. For me, it is more reminiscent of the feel of smoking an analog.

The Pilot provides a nice punch, a harsher vape than a penstyle. The biggest downside that I see to the Pilot is the incredibly small cartridges. Also, since the reservoir with the wool is recessed, it's trickier to refill/top off. It's not terrible, but it does involve using a straightened paperclip to pop the reservoir closer to the top. Since I'm a heavy e-smoker, the Pilot isn't quite as attractive to me since I have to refill/top off so often.

Just my two cents. :)

Bee--I just knew this was going to be the same old song and dance--We got the jam with the Dura and where waiting for some feedback on this Dura-C---Janty has a quality control issue and they are not going to address it. Thanks for the FULL HEADS UP Bee-----Sun

I don't want to press a button every time I take a drag.

I hate to be the bearer... but the Screwdriver is manual switch too... Which was also the selling point of the Dura-C. Manual switches work EXTREMELY well IMHO, but they aren't for everyone. Dura's have broken my heart not once, not twice, but thrice. They leak like the Titanic (no offense to Titanic survivors!!!) which was a deal breaker for me too. I don't need poison all over me, me desk, and everything I touch.

If they could FINALLY fix the leaks, I could see the Dura/510 being my main vape...

There are 3 mortal sins for an e-cig in my book:

1. Battery life <4 hours. I understand physics and chemistry *just enough* to know that to expect 15 hours out of a battery the size of an analog cig is of just not realistic. But 2 batteries better d@mn well get me through the workday.

2. Leaks. E-liquid is BAD to get on you. I'm no longer worried so much about transdermal absorption as transference to people with no tolerance (like my 19 month old son). Keep the %^&*-ing juice in the e-cig, or I'll bin in it a second.

3. I'm going to think of something, because 3 is a nice round number when you want to scold someone...

FYI... Yes, the 901 leaks too occasionally. I never let it ride around in a pocket. It does not leak anywhere near like the Dura/510 however... I always think "Apply Pressure To The Wound" whenever I use it...

Sad really, it's sooooo good when it's working (and I'm wearing gloves)

I don't care for manual button at all. I prefer the air-flow method switch.
though I know a switch will be required for USB direct power, which I intend to do to this first Dura-C after it runs through its charge life.

I have 2 regular batteries that work well and last 2 hrs each.

this Dura-C does not last any longer or provide any more vapor than
the standard batteries. (FOR ME)

I've not ever had a cut off problem with them fortunately.

I vape mostly at home while at the desk or on the couch watching tv.

I would really like to have direct USB Dura right now and if Janty would
simply omit the internal battery and put a usb chord out the end I would buy it right this instant.

Like i said on another post, the DURA needs a direct, eternal power
capability ASAP. it will at least immediately help those having so much battery issues.

Thanks for your input guys!
JustJulie, I know what you mean about the nice, thick warm vapor- I like it as well ;-). It's the blasted leakage and looseness which is driving me nuts. I put it down on the table, pick it up, and see a small puddle every single time. This is making the carts even looser. I could probably force myself to get used to the manual switch if I didn't worry that the cartridge was going to pop off into my mouth all the time, lol!

Initially, something held me back from buying this right away...I had my doubts, especially at that price. Now I really wish I'd listened to my gut. I realize that this technology is in its infancy and these things can be damned dicey, but for 70 bucks, this is inexcusable.

Beequeen, have you tried all of your carts? Personally I'm still using my first one and the 2 old ones that came with my original Dura and have no leaks at all. I think with little plastic parts there is a quality control issue and they can't test them before shipping. Maybe one of your others will fit tight. My carts kind of "click" into place.
The Dura does give a good throat hit compared to my others, Pens included. I was disappointed with my first Dura because the atomizer barely makes any vapor and I was ready to give up but the new atomizers put out clouds of vapor and I hate that the carts are not fixed for everyone.

i just done a video review on the Titan from TECC which is the same model but without the manual battery. its the new model 510, not the old dodgy one! the carts fit really tight with no chance of falling off. i wonder if it might be worth you getting some carts for the titan and using them on your Dura? seems a shame to let it go to waste if its only leaky carts that are the main problem.
for the price of some empty refillable carts, it might be worth a shot.

Beequeen--I suspect that Vince may be right that there's a problem with some of the plastic cartridges. Like I said, I'm not having a leakage problem, although I haven't tried all of my carts. (In fact, I'm still on the same one from Tuesday, just refilling.) My cart fits snuggly with a kind of click when I push it in.

If you want, you can send me a message with your snail-mail address, and I'll send you a cart that I know works with mine so we can see whether the problem is with the cart or the atomizer fit so that you can figure out what you want Jeff to do to make this right.

Also, a new automatic battery for the Dura-C is due out the end of the month. I'll be getting a few. There are times when I love the manual switch, but there are others where I'd prefer a manual.

Honestly, I don't see why all the nay-sayers. Beequeen is certainly having a problem, but most Dura-C owners have thus far been reporting very favorably from what I can see.

Me, I'm pleased with the performance thus far except for what seems to me to be a pretty short battery life. I'm reserving judgment, though, for another few weeks to see if it continues to perform well. Plus, there has some suggestion that the batteries need to be broken in and should last longer after several charges. Sounds strange to me. We'll see.

I had the janty mini fogger, batts sucked, good vape, but not worth the cash, traded it in for a dura kit, got one of the first out. I used it for a few days, liked it, but the leaking really got on my nerves. I bought a usb 901 passthru, apc pack, and a screwdriver, have NOT looked back. I took the dura out and charged the batts after a month in the closet not being touched, used it for two days, and just put it back for good. Im so tired of suckin juice into my mouth, and when i set the ecig down, flat or tilted, no matter, when I pick it up, its soaked on the outside.. I have been vaping for almost 3 months, and I know how NOT to overfill a cart etc, these things just LEAK, all the time, out the cart, out the atomizer, everywhere. Im back on my 901 and I can suck for all I'm worth, and I do NOT ever get juice in my mouth or anywhere else..
