This thread got me thinking, so I took a black dse 901 cart, and filled it, and slapped it on the dura atomizer/batt. It is a lil bit tight fit, but it does go on, and they are same length as dura carts. I can suck for all Im worth now and NO leaking. I find I like the dse flat mouthpiece better anyways, the cart doesnt hold as much, but for no juice squirts in the mouth, ill take it. This works for the times I want small, and tetherless vaping.

I swear I'm not trying to be contrary here, but a number of people are commenting about people complaining about the Dura-C, and I just haven't seen it.

Basically, I've seen Beequeen with a serious leakage problem and someone else unhappy about a short battery life (agreed) and the manual switch. Well, heck, the manual switch is kind of the point of the Dura-C. :) Maybe I'm missing something, but there hardly seems to be much negative chatter from people who actually own the Dura-C.

What I am seeing, though, are a bunch of people who are busy commenting negatively about the Dura-C based upon what they experienced or heard about the original Dura.

I guess the way I look at it is just as many of us have learned to be cautious about singing praises of a brand new model before it's been put through the paces for a few weeks, we should be likewise careful about panning a product prematurely.

Thus far, my only complaint with the Dura-C is my batteries don't last as long as I think they should. Right now, I'm getting about 2 hours, and I'm not exactly using it non-stop. That, to me, isn't long enough.

As for those who are unhappy with the manual switch, it is my understanding that a new automatic battery for the Dura will be coming out at the end of the month.

I have spent so much cash in experimentation not sure it is worth it?

but when you find something that works real well (Vaping heaven) it makes it all worth it!

I almost bought a smoking everywhere unit, then I found this forum and Parkd's review of the Dura. I knew then the Dura was what I wanted.

The leaking is annoying (leaks are just a bit sometimes not all the time)

but man when the Dura is working well, there's nothing like it! pure bliss!! :D

Borjis--IMO--and having been burned by the Dura nightmare--it is wise to stick with the tried and true like the 901 or the 801//RN4072 Penstyles--rather than go though all the garbage--Until I see many reports about how good a product is--only then will I branch out again --the Dura was a joke---Sun

Hi, Pure Habit. I responded to the thread you started regarding the Dura-C, so I won't repeat it all here. :)

However, I did want to tell you not to give up. Atomizers giving up the ghost is a fairly common occurrence, regardless of model. That's why folks generally recommend making sure you've got backup parts. I have backups for my backups. :)

You still have a functioning atomizer, and I believe I'm correct in saying that the Dura-C shipped with two atomizers, one a freebie (no warranty) and the other fully covered by the warranty. I suspect Janty decided to ship the extra atomizer for just this reason . . . to provide backups for folks if something went wrong so they wouldn't be left out in the cold waiting for a replacement part. Contact Jeff at Janty to let him know that you need another atomizer and see if he is willing to send you some different cartridges.

Vaping requires some patience. Faulty equipment, having to order online, dealing with cartridges, charging batteries, and then learning an entirely different way to "smoke"--not for the faint of heart. But if you can make it work for you, the rewards are pretty amazing.

HDBanger, I hear ya- I am careful about not overfilling as well. There's no getting around the fact that it's leaking like crazy. I have tried all my carts and they're the same.

JustJulie, you are a real doll- that's so sweet of you to offer up one of your carts! That's ok though, you hold onto them ;-)! Here's the thing- I get NO click when I put the cartridge in, which is something I found strange. I just assumed that this was a "Janty thing". Now I know for sure that I've got some wonky bits, and it's the cartridges. I will say that I've been getting some pretty good mileage off of the one charge on my one good battery, though. I just have to do alot of wiping up of nic juice and make sure I don't swallow the cart, lol!

HDBanger, I've got an umbilical...erm, a passthrough and it is very cool! I sometimes use it with my APC as well, even out and about. Hey, anything to keep me from smoking more Marlboros (I'm down to 5 a day).

With the manual switch, do you guys hold the button down the entire time you're inhaling? Or do you just click it once, then inhale? I've been holding it down- I just want to make sure I'm not wearing it out or anything.

igetcha, that's definitely something to keep in mind- thank you! I'll try to get this sorted out with Jeff in the meantime.

Leakage doesn't really bother me--other things are more important. I'm still working off the original Dura with my one working battery. I'll order a new automatic battery when they come in. The auto switch is an easy draw. As for the leakage, I think a little of it is not actually leakage of liquid but quick condensation of the vapor that leaks out of the powerful att and adheres to the outside of the cartridge. If you puff one heavily then set it down you'll see liquid on the outside of the cart after a few minutes.

My issue with the Dura is one attendant with all mini e-cigs: battery life. Vape for two or three hours, charge for two hours, repeat to irritation.

I know what you mean.

Thats why Janty should immediately (JANTY PAY ATTENTION)
take a load of Dura-C battery casings with the switch and solder
on a usb cord and sell them as a low cost solution right now
for people with battery issues.

I'm going to do this eventually to the Dura-C I just got once
the battery reaches end of life.

I really like your rules! So what ecig lives up to your expectations? I a total newbee and I'm trying to get this to be as *pleasurable* of an experience possible. Thanks!

There are 3 mortal sins for an e-cig in my book:

1. Battery life <4 hours. I understand physics and chemistry *just enough* to know that to expect 15 hours out of a battery the size of an analog cig is of just not realistic. But 2 batteries better d@mn well get me through the workday.

2. Leaks. E-liquid is BAD to get on you. I'm no longer worried so much about transdermal absorption as transference to people with no tolerance (like my 19 month old son). Keep the %^&*-ing juice in the e-cig, or I'll bin in it a second.

3. I'm going to think of something, because 3 is a nice round number when you want to scold someone...

FYI... Yes, the 901 leaks too occasionally. I never let it ride around in a pocket. It does not leak anywhere near like the Dura/510 however... I always think "Apply Pressure To The Wound" whenever I use it...

Sad really, it's sooooo good when it's working (and I'm wearing gloves)

I have a yeti, which is the same as the dura/joye 510. Yes the carts leak, but it is minimal. I got in contact with my supplier for another yeti kit, now there seems to be some issues on patent rights by janty? Maybe I misunderstood, but I thought Joye was making both the dura and the yeti. For example, my yeti box has joye 510 all over it. I am truly dissappointed by the fact that janty may be trying to corner the market on this device. I pre-ordered the mini fogger, promptly sent it back 3 days later. Janty does have good customer service which I believe keeps customers coming back, but they can only survive on that for a short period. A month later, my yeti is still preforming as good as it was when new, and I am a very heavy smoker. My 901 found a new home about 2 weeks after getting the yeti. I'm not impressed with the 901 either. The batteries die to quickly as do the atomizers. I, for one, was getting very tired of paying preium price for the 901, and getting maybe a week out of an atomizer. The yeti is very consistent from start to finish. Why does it seem to work much better than the dura? I can't answer that. I did have one atomizer replaced for the yeti do to a very hard draw.
