I don't have any recycling fun pics *sigh* :|

This reminded me of my great grandmother, who used to knit and crochet. I think every horizontal surface in her house had a doily, every extra toilet paper roll had a cover (likely with a pom-pom), and she even made covers for beer bottles that looked like poodles :)huh:). We received slippers made like this almost every Christmas, but she never went so far as to make them look like Chuck Taylors. RIP Granny :)

My Grandma was the same way... although the Poodles were for Wine bottles because my Grandpa used to make his own wine... :D I think I still have one packed away in storage somewhere!! (the poodle, not the wine... ha!)

(the one on the left is crocheted, the other one looks like it was knitted...)

And she used to make these beautiful 3D doilies with flowers, petals and leaves on them... she could literally see something and go home and make it.

It skipped a generation cuz my Mom didn't crochet, but she taught me how to do a chain stitch and I learned the rest from a book. :) (tried to knit once, but I couldn't even figure out how to cast the stitches on the needles... )

I have seen some PV holders that are crocheted, and I have an idea how to make them better (and more stable)... ;) Who knows?? You might start seeing some of my creations if I ever get around to it... LOL!!
