Sorry to hear about the stance your government has taken.... I'm really hoping ours isn't going to follow in their footsteps. If they do we've got to get every person on ECF to capitol hill! I love when they say "has not been proven to be a safe alternative to smoking cigarettes." Isn't just about anything a safe alternative when compared to smoking cigarettes?

Anyway, I'd help you out if I could. I can tell you I placed one order with a vendor in China, bestecig just for kicks and it came through without any issues. I've been ordering from US companies since though, as I feel a little more comfortable doing so.

So what is the worst that could happen if someone in the US sent you some components? They get confiscated? So what?

You know this is sad. Seriously sad, because here is a product that has a great record of getting people off the regular cigarettes that we know have 4000 chemicals and compounds in them of which a few dozen are known to cause cancer and yet what gets approved and what gets banned? It is idiotic that cigarettes are Ok for sale and that PV's are banned.

It really makes one wonder if big tobacco isn't behind this. I know, grab your tin foil hat, but seriously...are they behind a stealth campaign to make sure these products are driven off the market so that their precious cancer causing product is not hurt?

Hey Adam, i dont know what would happen but i do know is not practical when you have to order stuff from other country's, since its consumables and all that.

An about the government what can i say, makes me want to cry, you people are lucky you are vaping while reading this :D "fell my envy tru ur screen!!"

On topic again i have started to study the "blueprints" of the ecigs and seem fairly simple, also seen the Carlos49 or something mod the "juke box? juice box?" and also seems like a battery connected to an "atomizer" i believed these ecigs used real atomizing functions but they really are just burning the liquid as it "drips" over on the 36 wire, i dont see any ultra sound divice or anything really thought this would be way more high tech than it is...

So i prolly will begin a Mexican ecig construction soon, still need to clarify some stuff.

It definitely IS big tobacco, along with pharma and their products (patches, gum etc) and all the state governments that benefit from the absurd sales taxes they've levied recently. It's real sad, but all the government cares about is $, and big tobacco has got it. We might need a revolution to save our e-cigs, along with everything else that made this country great to begin with.

I haven't a single cloud of devout in my mind that Phillip Morris or w/e company runs the death machine here is behind all this, in 2008 the media made a big fuss of the ecig reaching us and there where several reports on TV about it, and they where great publicity for the ecig, some videos:

youtube.com/watch?v=VA1VUSG5Afw

youtube.com/watch?v=fCmpWjNceU8

After this it was like rising an alarm for the tobacco company's shortly after it was banned from the Mexican Territory, without even a proper test or anything, one day it gets awesome publicity the next is gone and is a crime wdf .

I took my ecigs to southern Baja this christmas and vaped my way around. Then, even with the heightened security searches due to the Christmas bomber I managed to sail through 3 seperate bag searches without issue. Glad they didn't confiscate them. That would have been a bummer!!

But they didn't even bat an eyelid!

Hi Andromeadae,

Yes it blows but people has been reporting being able to pass tru customs with the ecigs, im prety sure once ur clear you can vap anywhere in Mexico, problem should be just customs and or trying to buy juice here which is forbidden to be sold (so everyone coming to Mexico make sure to bring extra juices).

I think is pretty simple why is this actually, first like in China here is cheap to smoke (tops 2.35 usd per pack instead of 8+) so the tobacco companys are strong, theres around 30-40 millon smokers.

But the quick intervention i think comes mostly because Mexico resembles a lot to china in terms of piracy, and this kind of cigs dont need a tobacco farm to be made, give it enough string and you will have a whole pirate market on the streets in a couple day selling ecigs and juices that can taste to whatever u want :D.

I am Mexican btw and will be traveling there for business this summer. :(

Yes very sad :|, as i said before but since this thread got so popular so fast, disassemble ur PVs when storing for traveling to Mexico, also add something like an USB cable, if someone asks is a lantern or whatever, reading in other places seems use by itself is not penalized, just selling/importing ecig and ecig related stuff is.

Bring plenty of Juice since theres none here (someone sells in mercadolibre webpage but at outrageous prices).

So if I do make another trip to Mexico, would it be better to disassemble my pv and put it in checked baggage, or to just carry it in purse or carry on? What about the juice? What would be the best way to travel with e-juice? Not just to Mexico, but anywhere really. I just started vaping and havent traveled anywhere yet, so this will be some great info to know.

Well to be in the safe side just disassemble it, and about the juice well is nicotine and nicotine extracted and not part of tobacco is considered poison, i guess depends on each country regulation on it, here both are illegal to sell/import when is made for ecig juice at least.

It looks like vanilla bottles or savoring thing's for cakes, so it might pass like that? just remove the etiquettes?

Not much can be done but I will contact the Mexican tourism agencys and let them know as long as I can't bring my pv into the country I will put off any vacation plans I have to go there.

Btw, this is no idle threat I was planning to go back to Tulum for a week or two this year.

Bummer because I love Mexico but we need to stick together and send some kind of message on this one.
