E Cig causing white flashes?

I haven't seen this post before so id thought I would start it.

The other day when I would take a hit from my Mini Kanger Protank 2, it would shock my lips/tongue and also cause my eyes to see a bright white flash all around my vision. It seems it only happened when my tank was slightly loose. Does anybody know why my vision would flash?

That's the first report like yours I've heard here. If you bought it in a brick and mortar store, take it back and swap it for a replacement. If you bought it online, call them for a swap.

Any voltage produced by your ecig shouldn't be enough to sense while vaping. What you are describing sounds like a serious static discharge. If that's true it would take a recording oscilloscope to troubleshoot. Get it evaluated by your vendor.

Was the shock a quick jolt or prolonged?
Quick jolt could be static.
Prolonged could be a short. Loose connection could cause unwanted contact.

It was a constant buzz, as if I put a d battery on my tongue. I had other people try it and they saw the white flashes as well. With was with a mini zmax battery.

Not an expert but it most definitely is faulty. I had a similar experience but much more minor. I just felt a slight buzz on my tongue. Got it replaced and didn't have a problem for the following year.

Sounds to me like a short of sorts. Discontinue use immediately and get a new tank.if you are still experiencing this with your new tank my guess would be a faulty 510 connection. If thats the case, a new battery would likely be required. Trouble shoot first by trying a new tank. If thats not successful, you may want to get a new set up. You should Never be shocked by your equipment. This is not safe. Hopefully a new tank will fix your issues. If it does not, you will need to get new equipment. Hope this helps. Its not a short, its a loose connection allowing the voltage to take the path of least resistance ( your hand and mouth) the resulting flashes you are seeing is the spread of voltage in the blood vessels and nerve pathways in your face. The voltage is making its way deep enuf into the system to mess with the optic nerves. Make sure the atty is attached firmly to the mod.... and a good test to figure this out with is wear a couple of latex gloves when vaping to insulate your hand from the mod....

Yep, the path from hand through the body to the lips is passing through nerve endings on its way. It's possible that the 510 connector or the tank has a resistive connection somewhere and the voltage drop is being sensed at the tongue in its journey from hand to mouth. He says that it quits when he reseats the 510 connection, so that's a clue.

I have "tested" 9v batteries with my tongue for decades! The strength of the metallic taste is a good indicator of voltage. We musicians never seem to have a battery tester around during setup.

I've finally relegated all my effects into my amp with no stomp boxes on the floor and I'm 9v free these days.

Now that you mention the z-max mini, mine used to give me a minor shock on occasion. I finally noticed it would only do it when I fired it with my left hand and it came in contact with my wedding band. Firing it with the right hand with no rings and nothing happened. I have since added the 18650 extension and that cured the whole thing somehow. Good luck on finding your solution!!

Easiest, fastest and least expensive thing to check is the coil. Replace the coil and see if that fixes it. Check the old one for any damage.

Maybe you mean a 9v? Never shoved a C-cell in my mouth.

Seems to me, once would be enough and you would learn to clean the connections and keep the Topper snug. Sounds like you have found a new phenomena to entice and amaze you.
