Ok
Thanks
That video solved it

no it did not... my plastic bolt is a solid body, and the only part that unscrews is the very bottom metal module that holds the battery in. This is the bolt module i am talking about Plastic Bolt - Black. It it a solid piece of plastic except for the bottom metal piece that unscrews to take a 18650 battery,

Sestemybe, you're right - the video is for the Smoktech Bolt which is about $45. The plastic Bolt you bought does not strike me as anywhere near as tough and the reviews on the MadVapes site reflects this. Then again, it's a lot cheaper. Also from the reviews, I don't think you will be able to repair it.

Actually, the plastic Bolt is easier to fix. The body is two halves that go together like a plastic model. If your careful you can pry it apart without damaging it. I think the 510 connector is more of a problem than the switch. It's in place with hot glue and after screwing on an atty or cartomizer it's going to come loose. I took mine apart and resoldered everything with better wire. I put the connector and switch in place with epoxy, not hot glue. The I just put the two halves back together using a couple of spots with the epoxy.

I just wanted to bump this thread for any plastic bolt owners out there. My friends and I got some plastic bolts on sale and 2 had loose 510 connectors. I pulled all 3 apart, as per boomerdude, I used epoxy to fit the 510 connector properly. I didn't upgrade the wiring, had to resolder one negative connection because it ripped at the bottom base, and used silicon instead of epoxy to seal the device.

If they came with better connectors from the factory they'd have a killer little 18650 mod, but we're happy we spent less than $40 for 3 18650 devices.

You know I'm glad you bumped this. What with experimenting with ceramic wicks and Spin-e coils, I completely forgot about this. As luck would have it I just got another plastic Bolt. They're on sale for $12 and mine arrived DOA. Gotta find my notes on repairing the old one.
