I voted. I commented - it will likely not be permitted or posted.

I smoked, I coughed, I wheezed, I was becoming short of breath and in general noticed EVERY time I smoked I felt "bad". This was not a revelation. I knew cigarettes are bad - there is no question; only a fool would deny the fact. I was a fool - I denied the bad aspects by ignoring them for roughly eight decades.

After much research on these "e-cigarettes" I stopped and purchased a 'setup'. It cost about $40.00. I began "vaping" on 11-18-2013 and on 11-27-2013 had my last "real cigarette". Sure I had cravings and was tempted; however, I managed to stay away. I WILL STAY AWAY - thanks to e-cigarettes WITH or WITHOUT the devil "nicotine" the media repeatedly emphasises.

Today - 1-10-2014 I still cough in the morning. However, NO MORE do I say, "I coughed, I wheezed, I was becoming short of breath and in general noticed EVERY time I smoked I felt "bad". The morning cough is my lungs clearing decades of garbage I built up from smoking; I believe it will stop.My lungs will NEVER be "normal" again and that is my own stupid fault.

It may eventually be shown that these so-called "Carcinogens" exist in e-cigarettes; to date it is only public officials claiming they exist in one sentence and in the next saying EVALUATIONS have yet to be done. They do NOT know - I do NOT know. Yet, I knew and refused to acknowledge the harm I was doing to MYSELF while smoking "the cigarette". When I did - I switched to something that MAY kill me instead of WAS KILLING me.

I'll take my chances with e-cigarettes. Government intervention? It is just that "intervention" - without any need of "proof". Typical government - typical know-it-all attitude and a need for PEOPLE CONTROL - nothing more. I won't even get started on the "save the chillun" aspect they push; it's ridiculous. They appear to be "good guys" when citing "the chillun" - it is all a show. Otherwise they would present a case based on FACT - not fabricated "facts" backed by NO published proof. They claim "we" have no "proof" - yet theirs is all in the form of "words".

Done. I posted this . . .

A comprehensive review of e-cigarette chemistry conducted by Dr. Igor Burstyn, an accomplished educator and researcher in the field of environmental and occupational health at Drexel University's School of Public Health, has now been peer-reviewed and published in the BMC Public Health Journal. The study, completed with a modest $15,000 grant from CASAA, reviews over 9,000 existing observations of e-cigarette quality and concludes there is no evidence that exposures to contaminants in e-cigarette vapor would warrant any health concerns for users or bystanders.

BMC Public Health | Abstract | Peering through the mist: systematic review of what the chemistry of contaminants in electronic cigarettes tells us about health risks

Pole now . . .

I'm not sure how long this poll will be open, but the support is amazing.

70.15% (up from 59.14 Thursday night) think they are a good alternative. Our votes have obviously made a difference.
Please pass the link along to others.

I am still pondering, "proponents contend they are healthier than smoking traditional cigarettes.
MacKinnon [president and CEO of the lung association] isn't convinced."

Does she (can anyone) possibly think that "smoking traditional cigarettes" is the healthier choice?
If we could harness stupidity, we could light the World!
