e-cig that emits smoke out of the end?

Hi,

I'm producing a play and the theatre I'm having it in doesn't allow flames. I'd like to buy an e-cig instead. I'd like it to look as realistic as possible, so primarily I'm more concerned with how it looks.

I noticed most e-cigs have a little red LED at the end that lights up when you puff it, but is there one that gradually emits smoke at the end of it like a real cigarette would?

As a secondary concern, I'd prefer whatever smoke coming out of it to be as harmless and odorless as possible.

I haven't ever seen one that has smoke coming from the end.. that would just burn up juice I would think and most like to stealth smoke.. so as far as I know the answer is no.. but try a party, halloween store, gag store they might have something like that.

An e-cig with auto battery and orange LED would look real. The user (if not a smoker) can use a zero nicotine juice with heavy VG concentration. It would be odorless, and will throw clouds of smoke like vapor. No e-cig will produce vapor at the led end, but on stage, people will not really notice it.

You may, however, get complaints from the non-smoking whiners that don't know what it is.

Since I have practically zero knowledge about e-cig brands, I was wondering if you could recommend something specific that would best fit my needs?

Also, what does "VG concentration" mean?

To be realistic, the M401 / RN4081 / DSE103 come to mind right now. Any of the Super Mini's with white battery and orange LED will do.

You have to keep in mind that there is a learning curve with these things. They're not like a real cig, and will take a bit of practice to learn how to puff on them to get the most out of it.

VG is Vegetable Glycerin. The food grade VG is used for added vapor production. The vapor looks identical to smoke, and is sometimes heaver concentrated than cigarette smoke. Glycerin can be bought at CVS Pharmacy's, Walmart, Michaels Crafts, and a few other places. For the small amount you're going to use, I would say Michaels Craft Store would be your best bet. It's in the Baking section. Brand name is Wiltons. A couple of drops in the e-cig cartridge will do the trick.

A complete starter kit usually comes with two batteries, battery charger, one atomizer, and five cartridges. After you're done using it for your play, I'm sure that any smoker will take it off your hands.

And make sure the battery is fully charged before the curtain goes up. Have a spare off-stage. Don't let the cast and crew play with it till after the show.
