You see the Cold Turkey thread recently? lol

My heart is racing right now. E-cigs don't get my blood pressure up but that woman sure does!

ETA: Did I step over the line with my parting remark? (Which it was, I'm going to put her on ignore - or "foe" as they so diplomatically call it.)

Could one of you possibly do me a favor, and PM Fred for me and ask him to please email me at the email address on my account? (or just add gmail.com to the end of my username).

I'd really like to know if there was a glitch in the system or if there was something wrong with my posts, and correct the situation if so. (I'd actually prefer he delete my initial posts anyway, since the tone there has changed so much)

For example, meat is protein. Potatoes are starch. Your body uses an acid to break down meat and an alkaline to break down potatoes. What happens when you mix an acid and an alkaline together? They cancel each other out. This is what happens to steak and potatoes in your stomach and they cannot get broken down enough to be digested properly. This causes the food to rot in your belly. Ever get Gas.. This is why. there is an imbalance in the acids and alkalines in your digestive tummy. The more the food rots the worse the gas and bloating feelings get. What do they sell for gas? ant-acids. Why, either one will work, you can use a ant-acid which is an alkaline or a strong acid to get rid of the gas works both ways. the trick is to make one more dominant than the other again so one or the other of the foods will get broken down, then the body will break the other down.

That's a bit of an over-simplification, no? Enzymes do all the "heavy lifting" when it comes down to digestion.

Proteins: Proteases
Fats: Lipases
Carbs: Carbohydrases

Unless you have a paralyzed digestive tract it's unlikely food would actually "rot". Usually what happens in the case of gas is your body doesn't produce enough of a necessary enzyme in order to break down a food. When that happens, the bacteria in your digestive tract begin to work on the food resulting in the gas and bloating you mentioned.

You want to see something interesting about food, see the movie "Fathead." (I think it's still free on Netflix.) It'll really open your eyes. And after seeing all the deception special interest groups use to manipulate people about smokeless tobacco and e-cigarettes, you'll find the manipulation of the food industry and what we believe to be true about what we eat and how it affects us specially interesting (and quite believable.)
