I have a Segway tour of Balboa Park scheduled for July 9th.
The first time for either the wife or myself to be on a Segway.

And I didn't know anyone still programmed in assembly language!
But I guess someone has to, since we have some assembly language programs in the software we use.

That is so funny, I was just thinking the same thing. Most bugs don't bother me in the least, but I can't stand it when june bugs crawl on me!

We need a June Bug Phobia Support thread!

Earwigs, ticks and centipedes!! YUCK!! We had a terrible batch of earwigs and ticks up here last year - they were EVERYWHERE!

Never really had to deal with ticks in Milwaukee. Up here folks just take it for granted that if you were walking around outside you need to check everyone for them and then they just tear them off and toss them in the fire or toilet - but common courtesy is that you don't toss them back into the grass to get someone else. SO, you have to hold on to them and carry them off. ICK! I'm having a hard time getting used to it, but I don't have a choice! lol

Soooo has anyone here ever done a detox diet? Hubby and I are considering it but I'm wondering how much work it will be getting freshorganic stuffins....that and what on earth I'm going to drink to replace my coffee for a whole week.. Egads!!!

Yes and No. The best way to detox IMO is through the methods outlined in the book Fit for Life by Harvey Diamond. He teaches you about what the best foods are for this and how and when to eat them. A real fast for detoxing can take up to 6 weeks and in this time your body will turn itself inside out getting rid of all deep seated toxins. This is called a doctor supervised fast because all you get for 6 weeks is a little water with lemon juice. The methods in Fit for Life will get you almost as clean as this but over longer period of time letting the vitamins, minerals, trace elements, and enzymes from living foods go to work to clean your system. What this method does is get your body back to the state it was in when you were a child with the ability to clean itself and heal even most disease. This is what your body was designed to do. It's a truly fascinating read, but when you start to live it and see your body change, the results will floor you.

It will take a day or so for people to move their way over here. It's still relatively early and people will need to catch up. I've seen some boards that don't close topics or move them into appropriate forums, I typically don't participate in them since it can be "noisy". Not saying it's wrong, it just doesn't work for me. On the boards that I've administered or moderated on (over a 137k members), closing a topic that's run it's course is usually the best thing. Typically, a thread will change to something entirely different and the original intent of the thread has been OBE (Overcome By Events). Problem with leaving it open is that someone may not check in regularly to the thread and come back later, not realize it's been changed and reignite old issues or post on the original focus of thread without realizing the thread has "matured".

I spent most of today catching up .. so glad the old one was still there so I could finish.

Things are looking good. I think the best way to deal with Ev is to not deal with her at all. Just let the comments roll off. She's a hold out, that will just have to find something in her life that's happy.

Katiem too, she's relentless. A good friend of mine (more like an adopted mother) once botched one of those old cliche sayings: "You give people a mile and they take an arm!" I amended: Give people a mile and they will take an arm and hang themselves with it.

We probably don't stand a chance with someone who isn't even nice to the QSMB members

What do you mean clear it? Delete it or..?

It just seems that when I make my next post those same multi-quotes pop up in it also.

But usually only once and then they are gone. Not too bad. So like Classwife says I just delete the text. But I always post it before I notice them LOL

Well the one I was looking at you can eat vegetables and free range chicken and turkey... you have to give up white bread, junk food, sweeteners, caffeine, beef and pork ( not a big deal I don't care for beef that much and we don't eat pork often). There's a whole list but the point is you can eat you just have to keep it as organic and low fat as possible.
