I am on Indian land
I was lifting with my legs

You were lifting with your heart.

the first time I have not been able to simply shut out whatever pain I was in.

I'm so sorry that happened to you, but I'm glad you can walk some. Is your pain "managed" now?

That "simply shut out" stuff - or trying to - is one of the stupidest things humans do.

I did it for years, and the result was the exact opposite multiplied by a gazillion of what I'd hoped to avoid (impact on loved ones) than if I had just said "Whoa! This hurts like a ....!" and gone to the doctor the first time it hit the "Whoa!" level.

My wife is the true hero
That's how it works. No matter what godawful things may be wrong with us, or how much pain we are in, the suffering is exponentially worse for the people who love us.

Pain sucks. I've dealt with enough to last multiple lifetimes. I'm sorry you went through what you did MM. When you see a loved one in potential harm, you'll do just about anything to get them out of it.

What is the status of vaping gear in convenience stores and tobacco shoppes in your areas? Njoy has a virtual stranglehold along the Florida highways. There are other shoppes in various locales but nothing that has made an impact in the mindshare of smokers quite yet. -Magnus

Assuming this to be a general question aimed at the general readership...

Here in Tasmania there are no stores, convenient, tobacco or otherwise, selling e-cigs. :(

If there were they'd only be selling ones with zero nic anyway, juice containing nicotine may not be legally sold in AU.
(Moronic government. I could spit.)

There are some Aussie mail order retailers of hardware and zero nic juice, but I don't believe there are any storefront operations.

I've heard reports of illegal nicotine sales at some weekend community markets, but I've not seen it myself. (However, I've never seen an armadillo either, but I'm convinced they exist.)

Cheers

So in the US we can have nicotine but this logo, from an AU company, would cause fits:

We can't win in the anglo-axis anywhere.... *sigh* -Magnus

Yes, it's a great logo, isn't it? Her juices are highly regarded by Aussies, although I personally have yet to try them as I haven't yet got into DIY stuff. I will though in due course, it seems inevitable. :)

Snus, snuff and chewing tobacco are all completely banned here too, it would appear the government is hell bent on only allowing those nicotine-containing products which are most likely to kill us. Anything seem strange to you about that stance?

Cheers

How much is a pack of cigs down there, and average wage...just trying to get an idea of why.

We have cigs in packet sizes of 20, 25, 30, 40 and 50, so it's easier to quote prices per cigarette, they range from AU$0.47 to AU$0.62 each, depending on brand, if you buy by the carton, at least 5% more if you only buy single packs.

House prices here vary wildly, as they do everywhere, but the average 3 bedroom, 1 bathroom home on a compact block (say 700m2) will run around AU$500k in the major capitals.

Note: The Aussie $ is very strong compared with most currencies since our economy is in great shape, currently it'll cost you around US$1.07 to buy AU$1.00.

Why the AU economy is so strong is a whole other story. Happy to discuss but don't want to bore folks either.

Cheers

Probably needs salary data too, to be meaningful...

An 18 year old in McDonalds might make around AU$18.00 per hour. A middle ranking public servant maybe AU$65k pa, miners in Western Australia can easily make AU$180K pa. A good programmer with 5 years+ somewhere around AU$100k on salary, contracting maybe AU$150K. Doctors make a fortune, in private practice few would gross less than AU$500K.

Sounds like Au gov. lets plenty money on ciggies....might explain it. Or do they truely want tobacco free country?
Oh yes, they're addicted to the taxes alright. They automatically increase the taxes every three months, in line with the official government inflation statistics.

Cheers
