Randy... Decided to try the Sapphires again that I had lying around with a different nicquid today (Vermillion River Minnesota Menthol).

No perfume taste. I have a feeling that was coming from the chocolate flavoring in my DIY choco-mint. Still doesn't compare flavor/heat wise to dripping with the Vapage hybrid atty I've been using for the last month, but I can see why people like these.

I might have to pickup a VMOD with some BF hybrids when I know the new revisions are being shipped.

I'm waiting to receive some new wicking for mine, so I've reverted back to my CE2s. Can't wait to get some of the new ones. They have Sapphires now in higher ohms, also.

ETA: when the Sapphires are working best, they seem to bring out nuances in the flavors in my liquids that other cartos don't; it's taken some getting used to. Also, I think the factory may have been using random liquids to wet the wick for insertion into wick plate, so that may have been the cause of the perfumy taste we noticed at first.

I just received an order of the new supposedly indestructible fluxomizers and realized I haven't got a clue how to fill them. :glare:

Guess I have to go in search of an instructional video.

Easiest way is with a syringe or better yet, a needle bottle. With those you only have to pull out the tip and the inner seal ring. Otherwise you can pull out the cup seal ring and drip between the tube and the cup.

Which model did you get, the 510 or 808?

I need to replace the tubes on my old 2.4-2.6Ω ones so I can try them on the Bloog battery. The 2.6-2.8Ω works but is a little weak on it.

I'm putting in an order tomorrow for new CE2s and Vortex 2.0s.

Thanks, I think I'll use a syringe! I got the 510. I also got my variable eGo today, and I've been fiddling with that a bit.

What is a dry burn, when do I need to do it and why would I WANT to do it? Four months in and I am feeling like a noob again!

On that note... I ordered an eGo kit for my sister-in-law the other day because she got a look at her brothers (my husband) when we was down there last week. I ordered her an atomizer/cartridge kit and then a couple of boxes of Boge and SmokTech cartomizers and sent her some tobacco juice we had here so she could try everything out and decide what she likes best. She doesn't really have full use of the internet, just a smartphone, and I'm not sure how savvy she is with figuring out how to watch youtube videos on it. I tried to send her an email with as much information as I could think of to get her started, but realized since I've never used an atomizer with a cartridge I was going to be less than helpful there. I nicked the info from the ECF info pages for her, so I hope that's help enough. Not sure if she'll come to ECF or not, but I told her about it.

Just the thought of alcohol is making me ill. :(

You won't need to do a dry burn until the coils begin to accumulate built up gunk; it's the residuals from your liquids that don't get vaporized. Generally, the darker the liquid, the quicker the coil will gunk up. CE2s work especially well with it; you can restore one to like new performance a number of times before the coil or the wick degrades to the point where you'll need to toss it.

The basic method is to remove the tube, then put the "innards" on a battery and hit the switch until the coil begins to smoke. Limit it to a few seconds at at a time so that you don't stress the coil too much. Eventually all the gunk will turn to ash and the coil will begin glowing red. You might need to gently "brush" the coil a bit to remove the ash, but eventually you'll be able to discern the fine coil wire without the ash coating. Give it final wash, reinstall the tube, and you're done.

You can also do a presoak in white vinegar to help remove some of the gunk first. Follow the soak with a water or PGA rinse to remove the vinegar before the dry burn.

That's my limit also Sallie. Three and I probably won't remember my trip home. But I do like to have those two occasionally.

My little neighborhood Mexican restaurant has them half price on Fridays. I am often in the mood for Mexican food on Fridays.

:)

I had mine at a Thai restaurant. I normally order a Scorpion Swimming pool, I mean a Scorpion Bowl. One of those and I'm under the table. Not sure why I thought two margaritas were a good idea.
