No kidding.. I might be making a bushel of them. -Magnus

Just weird.. -Magnus
Morning all.
It's been an interesting almost 48hours. Had my first major "hardware malfunction" with my Riva batts. Apparently one of my clearos (that I JUST GOT ON FRIDAY) had a short. After I filled it up, hit the button it wouldn't stop. After about 10 seconds the switch light started blinking really fast, then the cursed "magic smoke".The internal protection did it's job, but the battery is now toast.
Now for the facepalm.... like an idiot, I tried taking the clearo apart to see "what went wrong"... thought I had it fixed. So I put it on my ONLY OTHER BATTERY.
Magic smoke stinks btw....
The good news is that I am NOT getting cranky, and NOT feeling the need for an analog. Just disappointed in myself for not thinking.
So... I've heard some of you have used a roughstack? Any opinions regarding? After this little mini debacle I'm going to want at least one type of PV that you can take completely apart AND has user replaceable bits, without being too obscure.
Had considered the Chuck, DC has had luck with them, but magnus has not.
ETA: the e-power also looks interesting, but I'm still leaning toward that RS, since it can be upgraded to 6v and 7.4v quite easily (both of which I've never tried).
Hey Blue just a question on the Hep c, I know there are many different subsets of Hep c
but I have yet to hear of one person I know { more than 20} who has died from a "fatal version" of it.
Of course the chemo and toxic cocktails with a 30% or less chance of cure may kill you!
Getting pneumonia will too but the disease seems to be many times asymptomatic for most.
As I said I know many with this disease who have contracted it in varied ways but damned near all are still around to talk about it. Did this persons doctor tell them it's "fatal" it can be I just don't think it's usual based on what I've seen and read? Just curious if they {doctor} said that to force them into taking a treatment that can be far worse than the disease itself.

Blu, your friend needs to get a second opinion. For a few reasons...
- One, it's been my experience that some Doctors pursue an overly-aggressive stance too early thus causing more trouble and damage to the liver.
- Two, finding the right treatment center for the inferon/chemo sessions is very important to maximize results and quality of life.
- Three, finding the Doctor with the best mindset on success instead of mortality rates is important for the mind.
Also the success in treatment and continued treatment is ~%50 for HepC so this is not some ultra-aggressive form, it's just the norm.. so don't, mentally, make it worse that it already is.
The other huge contributing factor is other autoimmune diseases involved... that's a private matter but it's something to be aware of.
I've know three people w/ HepC, one diagnosed when she was in her twenties and twenty years later you still wouldn't know it. Two diagnosed in their sixties. One continues to drink and abuse his body, he did not make it a year. The other is ten years without much worry. A quality life can be had and hoped for. -Magnus
