Completely unrelated...

Bought tickets to see Dream Theater here in SLC on Sept. 30th. Going to see Volbeat Aug. 30th.

Yep... I'm excited. :)

2nd time seeing DT. A little sad that Portnoy left, but I saw him recently with Avenged Sevenfold. Not the same thing (obviously), but still a fun concert.

The thing about the RTS bit is that this latest thread, after he deleted his post, and the bit about PayPal suspending his account and providing no proof that CC did it... I'm starting to wonder if RTS is playing games. I thought the initial reaction was a bit off-base but figured it was just sensitivities to the topic.

If she is a fraudster or competitor, she at least effected my perception of RTS w/ the baiting and talk.

I'm done moving my internal business forums to XenForo. In the process I've been trying to decide if I want to setup an OUTSIDE! exclusive forum of sorts just to pass the time. Or give myself a stroke. Hrmm. -Magnus

Morning all.

It's been an interesting almost 48hours. Had my first major "hardware malfunction" with my Riva batts. Apparently one of my clearos (that I JUST GOT ON FRIDAY) had a short. After I filled it up, hit the button it wouldn't stop. After about 10 seconds the switch light started blinking really fast, then the cursed "magic smoke". :( The internal protection did it's job, but the battery is now toast.

Now for the facepalm.... like an idiot, I tried taking the clearo apart to see "what went wrong"... thought I had it fixed. So I put it on my ONLY OTHER BATTERY.

Magic smoke stinks btw....

The good news is that I am NOT getting cranky, and NOT feeling the need for an analog. Just disappointed in myself for not thinking.

So... I've heard some of you have used a roughstack? Any opinions regarding? After this little mini debacle I'm going to want at least one type of PV that you can take completely apart AND has user replaceable bits, without being too obscure.

Had considered the Chuck, DC has had luck with them, but magnus has not. :(

ETA: the e-power also looks interesting, but I'm still leaning toward that RS, since it can be upgraded to 6v and 7.4v quite easily (both of which I've never tried).

Here I am slow and late to the party as usual - been a really busy week!

I had an issue with a clearo for my 510 1100 mah this week too - It was a colassal carto - and my hot cinnamon - well they didnt mix very well together and carto tried to disintegrate on my batt - was able to save the situation - thankfully. Thos colassal cartos - freakishly HUGE. Would never want to be seen in public with it..lol. Got a dual coil clear carto to try with it and so far so good. If they won't work with HC - well then I can't use them..lol. Good tip and heads up on magic smoke - will be on the lookout for that..lol.

I am so many pages back and I'm sure you have feedback on the roughstack - but a friend of mine just got one of these and he really likes it so far. He has all the batteries needed to take it from 3.7v to a 6v. For the price - seems like a great deal doesn't it? :D

I really havent chimed in too much on the original content of this thread - and now I find I'll throw in maybe a pennies worth - because I feel like I have something to say for my experience - otherwise I come here because all of the peeps that post to this thread are knowledgeable, entertaining and enjoyable.

Here's what I know. I smoked for 30 years nearly to the day - 1.5/ppd. I quit in one instant with an e-cig. One instant. I have never looked back since. I am quickly becoming more immersed in energy work and healing. I've known for over a year now that I HAD to quit smoking and I, in no way, shape or form wanted to quit smoking - I enjoyed it. However, in order to move forward in my healing work, which is a stronger calling, a weird sequence of events took place..and I found ecigs. On 09/07, I'll have 90 days in. Not only did I quit smoking, but I gained the largest boost of confidence I've ever experienced. I'm losing weight. I'm moving way ahead in my energy studies. I'm way healthier already and I'm a newbie. I have met some incredible people that change my life and make it a better place every day. All because of e-cigs and vaping. I proudly vape and vape whenever possible. I will and DO lend my voice to the cause.

Just this week I learned that someone very near and dear to me has been diagnosed with Hep C - Type 1A - as I understand, the most fatal version of this virus. 40% survival rate. He begins chemo in 2 weeks. He is lucky enough to be able to take advantage of some leading edge meds specifically for this type (1A). He is an extraordinarily determined person. His doc said without a doubt - quit smoking. I wasted zero time upon hearing this and hooked him straight up with everything he will need to put his cigs down - in one instant. He will be VAPING by Tuesday at the latest. I know he will be able to do this - because so many of here have the same story. I also hooked him up directly with CASAA (hope i got that right - from memory) so he could turn around and link his doc in...and challenged his doc basically to find something harmful about it - from a doc's point of view. I mean a doc can also tell someone to cut down on caffeine...same as nico IMO. Aside from that...there is no disputing the improvement in my overall life.

As far as the political end of things - just truly pathetic. Big pharma dollars - surprised that tobacco not chiming in..but sure they in on it somehow. I mean the phrase of "if you cant beat em join em" comes to mind, but that would be WAY too simple. All because, apparently these conglomerates just do not have enough money yet. Hate losing market share. Then..mix in big govt and we can truly get a cluster*^#$@ going. It seems inevitable that the FDA will regulate the industry so they too can get their hands in the pie and I'm quite sure we can look forward to a 70% increase on tax rate. This means that truly ethcial vendors will have no choice to pass along the increase to us and less than ethical vendors will sell "out the back door" and take their chances on getting caught...which I'm sure will happen sooner or later. I mean, heaven knows we should spend even MORE dollars to police the PV industry because we just have ZERO GOING ON ELSEWHERE THAT NEEDS OUR IMMEDIATE ATTN. Once again, we, the consumer left holding the price tag. We just give and give, so govt and corporations can just screw our world up a little more and more. And like most, I will continue to do business with ethical vendors at that increased price...because I refuse to STOP VAPING. I could afford to smoke - didnt mean I liked it...but I'll afford to VAPE also...sadly and only from the perspective that I enjoy it so much, so will pay the price..like I did with cigs.

LOL@PV's not being a quit smoking device. WHATEVA. I guess it's all in how you look at it. So, I'll just call it the I've got a brain and started VAPING to save my own life device. :D

Hey Blue just a question on the Hep c, I know there are many different subsets of Hep c
but I have yet to hear of one person I know { more than 20} who has died from a "fatal version" of it.
Of course the chemo and toxic cocktails with a 30% or less chance of cure may kill you!
Getting pneumonia will too but the disease seems to be many times asymptomatic for most.
As I said I know many with this disease who have contracted it in varied ways but damned near all are still around to talk about it. Did this persons doctor tell them it's "fatal" it can be I just don't think it's usual based on what I've seen and read? Just curious if they {doctor} said that to force them into taking a treatment that can be far worse than the disease itself.

You know to be honest, I know so little and this news - came as a shock to him. Obviously hit me from out of the blue, but I am least of the situation for sure. He told me only 40% survival rate and that the type he has managed to contract one of the least survivable? He also made it initially sound like a short round of chemo (also completely like him to play it down) - which I found out yesterday is more like 48 weeks. So, he could be giving me some of his gut reactions. However, the news you share with me - I can't even begin to tell you what good news that is. Thanks so much!

The "not a quit smoking device" distinction is a silly one on the surface, but it also one of the main points that the ANTZ bring up against e-cigs: that they haven't been proven effective as a smoking cessation device. Our best counter at this point is that they are not a smoking cessation device, but are instead an alternative.

It's stupid, silly semantics, but necessary to beat them at their own game, IMO.

Blu, your friend needs to get a second opinion. For a few reasons...

- One, it's been my experience that some Doctors pursue an overly-aggressive stance too early thus causing more trouble and damage to the liver.

- Two, finding the right treatment center for the inferon/chemo sessions is very important to maximize results and quality of life.

- Three, finding the Doctor with the best mindset on success instead of mortality rates is important for the mind.

Also the success in treatment and continued treatment is ~%50 for HepC so this is not some ultra-aggressive form, it's just the norm.. so don't, mentally, make it worse that it already is.

The other huge contributing factor is other autoimmune diseases involved... that's a private matter but it's something to be aware of.

I've know three people w/ HepC, one diagnosed when she was in her twenties and twenty years later you still wouldn't know it. Two diagnosed in their sixties. One continues to drink and abuse his body, he did not make it a year. The other is ten years without much worry. A quality life can be had and hoped for. -Magnus

Wow Magnus!! Thanks so much for taking time to tell me this. Very grateful and will pass the info along. I'm in a very positive state of mind, because there is just no other way to approach this situation - He's just a little off center at the moment - can't really describe - something I hear in his voice I've never heard before type thing. However, he is not w/o the ways and means to procure the best of what he needs. You'd like him actually - intellectually you could relate. He's healthy as an ox his whole life. I think what's really going on, is that as my friend, knowing how I might react - he just breaking news gently. :) But making that post is really bringing about some really good news for me today - so even more happy.
