I loved my Palm phone too!
There are some cheaper alternatives for data plans Kristin unfortunately they aren't that much cheaper about ten dollars less for AT&T which I have for my 2 iPhones and Ipad.
Which we can barely afford. :glare:

MMCGee!
I need your expertise for a Scubagen V3 tank mod!
Call me please Skype or landline.

Actually, I think I was only paying $29.99 for my data plan in the end (it was originally $39.99), but on two phones ($29.99 each) that was hefty. I had heard something about new accounts not getting unlimited data as an option. What is that all about??

I would have thought by now cell phones would all be on unlimited monthly plans like land lines have been for years. It's quite a racket hitting people up for the overages, though.

I think that's exactly it Kristin. They're making tons of money on the overages. I barely use the data plan on my phone, but I am one of the lucky ones who still has the $29.99 unlimited data plan. I get a 30% discount through work, so I only pay $21 for data. It doesn't even make sense for me to switch to a lower plan at that point. I'm not thrilled with AT&T but we get the best service with them in our area.

I pay about $122 total for essentially unlimited everything on two phones. The only thing that isn't unlimited are the 1500 minutes, but the only calls that count towards that are those to land lines. My last bill shows we only used 7 of those minutes.

A similar plan at Verizon would cost about $180+ taxes. AT&T would be $160+ taxes.

Geez I pay 180 at AT&T for 3 with unlimited data, text and 1400 minutes but I have 12,000 minutes to rollover.
Odd. I think Sprint is much higher here in Boston.
Could that be due to the part of the country you're in Nate?
C.B.

It doesn't hurt that I have a friend that works for Sprint. ;)

Well, that is for 5 phones and translates to about $37 each monthly for the 2 phones without data plans and $67 monthly for the 3 that have unlimited data plans and all have unlimited texting. It's not too bad considering individual plans are $40 for 450 minutes plus $20 for unlimited texts and another $30 for 2GB data allowance which = $90 for one phone with the same services we are paying $67 for. Our account has myself, my husband, my 2 adult sons and my mom. They give us $67 each instead of having a separate account and paying $90 to Verizon. It really ends up being a little less than if we all had individual accounts.

Kristin, I have to give a ringing endorsement to Virgin Mobile...You have to party a bit more for the phones, but I get unlimited text and data for $25/mo along with 300 minutes on my Android. ($60 for unlimited)

I read somewhere that they will be throttling if you use more than 2.5 gb/mo, but that's still reasonable.

OMG I'm soooo fracking lost you guys! I actually wandered out of the CASAA and News sections and was reading about cartos. WTH?? I am so behind in the technology. Right now I'm vaping a regular 510 atty (I actually don't like LR attys) with a drip tip on an eGo battery. Pretty pathetic, I guess? I'm happy with the taste, throat hit and vapor, so I haven't looked into finding anything else. Drew (Nhaler) sent me a carto to try and I don't even know what it is, lol! It's clear, so I can see the filling but it has a drip tip??

I guess it's a "Clear Colossal Dual Coil Cartomizer." What does "dual coil" mean and why would I want it? I tried a cart once and it always tasted & acted like it was empty. I was thinking of trying this one, but I'm low on liquid and I don't want to waste it if I don't like it. Has anyone tried any good self-feeding tips that don;t leak or let the atty go dry? I'm so lost these days - even lolady knows a lot more about devices than I do these days!

You can't, so far as I know, get any plan for a mobile here in AU that includes unlimited data.
Our phone and ISP charges are really astronomical.

Allegedly it's all to pay for our National Broadband Network, which plans to completely phase out the copper network and replace it with fibre (to the premises) to 97% of homes and satellite to the really "outback" places. If it all comes together we should have 1GB per second over the fibre parts by 2022. So far the roll-out has been pretty slow, and has only covered a couple of small, economically depressed towns in Tasmania. Take up in those towns has been slow and it is rumoured that the NBN currently has more employees than subscribers! :)

I'm pretty impressed by the Drip on Demand gadget so far, thanks to Phonedude for mentioning it, and scinsc for developing it, if either should happen to read this post.

Cheers

You and me both.

I wrote the Electronic Cigarette Primer a long time ago.
And you wrote the Everything You Wanted to Know About Your 510 thread just about as long ago.

Now I can't even help people in the New Member forum anymore.

We've turned into dinosaurs.

Hey Kristin, I'm not even going to attempt to explain this to you, although I use the dual coils and I like them. I know it has something to do with being able to get more wattage at lower volts, at least I ~think~ I know that. I've just ventured into the world of attys so I can't help you at all there. Hopefully Randy (or someone who understands Ohm's Law without having to google it) will be along soon to explain the duals and someone else to explain the attys. I think you're better off than I am frankly. I know next to nothing about a lot of things e-cig related and I'm so lost I keep running in circles. If you're happy with what you have, maybe you should just stick with it. You're probably among the few who is 100% satisfied and isn't looking for something "better".

Dual Coils are pretty well explained here, I think. Note that as there are two coils now drawing current from the battery it would be reasonable to expect the battery charge to only last about half as long.

I haven't tried them yet but will probably order a few next time i need to order anyything.

Cheers
