Thanks, CB.

No big deal. Went to the DMV this morning and got it replaced. There goes $5. The lady seemed quite agitated that I hadn't reported the theft to the police. Problem is, I'm not sure where it happened and I don't live in the same city as I work so I wouldn't know who to even report it to. She said it didn't matter, just as long as it was reported. OK... I almost said, "I'm sure NYPD has better things to deal with than a stolen decal in Utah," but she didn't seem like a joking kind of lady.

Too bad you don't have any influence over your namesake tropical storm/hurricane Nate...I would ask ya to swing it up our way... we desperately need the rain here in Texas...the fires are having an affect on me here in Dallas now too...its really setting off my allergies and making me sick...I guess something that burned in the last few days doesn't agree with me....

and no I'm not discounting the horrible suffering of those who now have no homes or have lost their lives....worst set of wildfires I have ever seen here in Texas...I'm praying for their swift end...too may people hurt now and it continues on...

Sorry, Madman. I really hope Texas gets some relief soon. I lived in the San Diego area when they had those huge wildfires several years back. I could clearly see the flames from my apartment, the sky was a nasty chocolate brown and it "snowed" ash for many days.
Where did you live back in the day?

The massive power outage yesterday was a new issue to deal with around these parts.
Something that we on the West Coast don't have to worry about under normal circumstances.

But yeah, that really threw a wrench into everyday life for one night.

Good thing I had a good supply of camping equipment.
Our propane lantern was really lighting things up.
:)

We almost made a fire, and almost decided to barbeque.
Gotta turn something like that into a party around these parts!

In the end we just opened a few bottles of wine and ate leftovers.
:)

I lived in El Cajon at the time of the fires, but I spent time in Spring Valley and Vista over the years.
I've lived all over San Diego in my 40+ years here (with a somewhat brief stint in Orange County) including...
--Mission Hills
--Kearny Mesa
--Pacific Beach
--University City
--Clairemont
--And now Vista

They all have good points, and almost no bad points.
There is nowhere bad to live in San Diego, unless you're east of the 15 freeway.
:)

Vista was my favorite though. I lived close to the Circuit City off the 78.
Dude, I live just above where the Circuit City used to be.
(It's now a BMW dealership)

I live in a development built in 2002 on the hill right above and across the street from that parking lot.
But now I say that it is above the Costco, since the Circuit City isn't there anymore.
