Thanks Bud. I will stand alone....love you all... and will miss ya!

What you guys need to understand I so didn't want to quit 2 yrs ago in fact alot of the time I wished I'd died instead of giving up my best friend my smokes. Plus some of my good friends especially Rain would nail me & make me face the truth-I'd quit because I had a drs. appt. or whatever-sometimes I'd quit for a few days & then sometimes I lasted 6 wks but it got to the point where I was wasting their time & mine & realized like they say sh** or get off the pot & by that token I knew either quit for good or smoke till I croaked. So yeah you may not agree with their tactics but look how many finally wake up & quit for real-it takes strong support along with a postive attitude to get off smokes.

Maybe you haven't been fully assimilated yet.

The rest of us all know the plan right away - so no meetings needed.

Kristen thats too damn funny-I had the feeling you were refering to the borg-man I hope you don't see the Q board like that.

It's great when it works - no one is arguing that. And you have every reason to be proud of accomplishing your goal! :)

All the strong support and positive attitude IS needed to get off the nicotine. Getting off just the smokes can be a lot easier these days. ;)

I saw the paw, too. Aren't Hemmingway's cats like that in Key West?

I keep meaning to mention - I had a kitty named Bailey, too. He ran back to our old house when we moved a few blocks away and we looked everywhere and put up posters but we never saw him again. Had him for about 8 years. :(

Awwww I'm sorry to hear that. Its like losing a kid.

Not QSMB - us. That was to Ren because he was joking that we were supposedly "plotting" to take over the Q board and he wasn't seeing us doing all of the planning (invited to the meetings.) I was just teasing that he hadn't been fully assimilated into our "nicotine junkie collective" because we don't need meetings! LOL

I was the same way. I had absolutely no intention of quitting smoking when I purchased my first ecig. My intention was to shut my(oh so lovable) non-smoking hubby the hell up, he mentioned ecigs to me first(the captain on his ship was pushing them)
I figured I could use it when he was around and smoke when he wasnt(which is to often anyway) Problem solved for both of us right?

I stop smoking the day I received my Blu(which is considered the low of the low of ecigs) I had two left in a pack when the mail came. I finished those while the batteries charged, ran out to store to pick up other stuff and didnt get the cigs I had planned on picking up.

Vaping was that much better for me. They made a full on 2 pack a day smoker with no desire nor will to Quit...QUIT.

You mentioned quitting with nicotine...same thing from an e-cigger and I still think that's why you were warned... I went on a 5 post rant on DC's thread and didn't get warned.

I meant that in a cold turkey vs a NRT kind of way. I never meant for someone to stay on nicotine.. I even said that in my post,

Tips for newbies. Good idea.

Newbies, you might like to know that there are many ways to quit smoking. Some involve quitting smoking and nicotine, others just involve quitting smoking until such time as you can handle getting rid of the nicotine addiction. For now, the main health giving thing any quitter needs to do is put the cigarettes down and don't pick one up again. If you feel you have to use a nicotine replacement therapy product to help you quit there is nothing wrong with that and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. This forum has an active sub forum for all types of quit smoking methods, you may want to look it over and find a method that is right for you. it is here: viewforum.php?f=16"

The op's post had a cold turkey tone to it, and I didn't want newbies to feel threatened by it.. I wanted them to know quitting by other methods were acceptable.

John I know what you meant... having said that you should know they don't care what you mean if YOU or I say anything remotely encouraging nicotine they're gonna be all over it. I knew you were gonna get ripped the second I saw it.

Not saying its right but it is what is

Well if Fred did send me the warning because of That, then he should not have a popular methods sub fourm, then call me out for suggesting people use it. I hate that the CT'ers can shove Ct down everyones throat.. yes it might be right for some and thats Great.. but in the main forum i think they need to be fair and balenced and if they are going to welcome newbies, tell them all the board has to offer.. that is only fair.. I cannot "get away with" posting in favor of E-cigs in the main forum, their posts should not be slanted in favor of CT either.

It probably wasn't that alone... I'm thinking it was that and the symptoms thing from here (because the e-cig parts weren't edited out) not sure if there's anythng else I noticed but Fred could answer the why better than I can.
