II plan on sticking around and giving timely information to those that ask for it. As much as I'd like to evangelize my success and method, it's quite difficult to work past the negativity.
I am pretty sure I am not going into the Main Quit Smoking forum anymore.

The bottom line is that I can't tolerate some of those people, nor can I tolerate the "Nicodemon" concept.
There is no way I can continue reading all that crap and keep my mouth shut.

I guess since I haven't been called out (nor have I been as exceptionally good at providing links/info to infuriate 'demon' ppl either), I'm comfortable with offering some support outside of the subforum.

The only real disappointment I have is that as things stand right now, should somebody drop into the main section, one would be shouted down for offering the ecig "concept" to an aspiring quitter. We shall see what the new posters offer.

I think it's possible, but what an incredibly fine line it would be to walk.

And I really don't want to have to be asking Fred all the time how he feels I should respond under various circumstances.
So I THINK I have decided to try my best, and let the chips fall where they may.

What are you guys gonna do?

I'm going to continue.... how can I not after two thank yous from our dear lady and consent from Fred to convey the HR method in the e-cig section.... I don't think we can flaunt but he said right there we can share on it in our sub forum. He also clearly states we can send people here for more info on harm reduction...

To me those things alone can accomplish a lot.

Did someone mention perhaps making a "How to Quit Smoking using an Electronic Cigarette" thread? It would be a very good idea, IMO, and perhaps you could get Fred to sticky it.

I would be willing to post a version of what I submitted to the Quit Smoking Methods section?
I can repost it here again if anyone wants to give it another look?

Or if anyone else wants to give it a whack, by all means...
:)

There are a couple of threads in there that I would like to get stickied.
I'll send a PM and ask him if we can do that, and then we can pick which ones we think should be stuck?

So I sent this to Fred...

I think we are starting to feel like this might just work.
:)

So we were wondering if we could get a couple of theads stickied?
There are a couple we would like to keep at the top to provide answers to common questions.

If so, can I let you know which ones?

Thanks!

Will let you know what he says...

Boy I'm so happy that some think this whole Nicodemon thing is some big joke-it isn't to those who quit smoking & quit nictine-ole nicodemon will use whatever to awaken you're addiction again.

I think the term is a little degrading for adults... I also know nicotine isn't the primary reason for smoking...for everyone. I understand too for some it IS.

I understand the nicodemon concept well enough, I just don't like the term. I'm with you on that one, Shannon.
Cheers

No offense, but please don't lump me into that. I quit smoking and nicotine and I don't look at it like that at all. I used to smoke - period. I am aware that it would only take one cigarette to get me back started again, but I am not clinging to a Nicodemon - I am living my life without smoking. Being aware is what I utilize to keep quit - not something that lives in my daughter's closet.

I know there are people that live like that and truly believe that and there is nothing wrong with that for them - it's just not my way of life. Not knocking what works for others.

I am also like that with the term "addict" yep I was addicted to nicotine (although after all this reading I am wondering) but that's neither here nor there - I no longer ingest nicotine so can't be addicted to something I don't ingest. Again, I am aware of what it would take to get me smoking again and that keeps me quit. (That and the threats from my kids and the people I quit smoking with!!) LOL.

Congrats on your 9 months Beth - I am looking forward to my 9 month anniversary...sheesh - you could have had a baby in that time.

WEll for alot of us we see Nicodemon bidding his time before he throws a monkey wrench into our quits so we see it as someone tryng to get us to lose our quits so to me & others especially early into our quits is how we deal with staying quit. By giving the threat a name.

The concept is good the actual word is what I don't really care for but that's just me. You have to understand I was raised in a household where we weren't allowed to use baby talk not even in play.

I'm not saying nicodemon is baby talk but its not an actual word either. So yeah for me its like nails on a chalkboard or someone biting their silverware.

I had to put my kitties in here - I have no idea how to post a picture on the other board - it is hot here today - the orange one you can see is Tigger and the legs are Cider his sister. They are such idiots. Seriously they have been sleeping like this on and off all day - one on their back, one all twisted up, they crack me up.

I'll share with you my husband's inside joke when we first thinking of names...he wanted to call them Dickens and Cider and then let them and call them in later - go ahead...call them in - don't put an "and" between their names!!! LOL.

Not all of us from there subscribe to nicotine being demonic. I quit cold turkey- didn't read up, didn't make public pledges, etc... I went there for support in the early days. Smoking, nicotine, the hand mouth thing- which ever part it was that caught me- I don't really care at this point. I am done with it all. I'll just snap my gum when I want to do something to divert a moment of need be.

Gum snapping can be highly satisfying
