THIS for one the two talking about medical problems also but mainly the one I linked.

The possibilities are endless ... it's always funny when it's a persons first post. I have found that the members here are excetpional at handling it either way. I just love a stoopid question now and then LOL

Really .. some people just amaze me. I have had several friends who's first thoughts when seeing my Hooka-Doodle is how you could use it for illegal substances. I just shake my head. That's all OK but does every aspect of our lives have to go THERE?

Since I do nto belong to the QSMB, I want to post a thought regarding complete abstinence from nicotine vs. harm reduction.

My mother has been dying since 2007. She has a slow growing cancer called Atypical Neuroendocrine Carcinoma. She has tumors throughout her skeleton, in her liver, in her mesentary, in her lungs, several in the dermal layer and even one in her eye. My mom is in pain and her condition is terminal. My mother is also addicted to nicotine gum and has been for many years.
Now stand back for a moment.
We were also dying from cigarettes. Sure there are a lucky few that can escape disease from them but I work in healthcare and I can tell you that a majority of people will become prematuraly ill from smoking-related disease. It is not to be taken lightly that we are saving our lives.
I would ask those on QSMB whether they would talk to my mother about nicotine abstinence. Or if they would want to speak to her about not taking the addictive pain relievers that keep her functioning on bad days ( because those are far more addictive than nicotine.) She is dying and addiction to a chemical hardly matters.
On the same note, my addiction to nicotine hardly matters when I am trying to obtain the end goal of staying alive for my children/grandchildren/husband. It is so insignificant in the grand scheme of things that it is hardly a blip.
I'm sure my nicotine addiction will end soon. I have gone from 24mg to 11mg painlessly (and with great yumminess!) over 3 months and my goal is to get to 0mg. But dangit, I have already accomplished the biggest hurdle...quitting smoking.

You're absolutely right in the grand picture wth does nicotine matter one way of the other so long as you're healthy.

Linden - hugs to you.

We have all stood back and taken a look. IMHO that's why we came here.

We stayed because this is a community of wonderful, caring, crazy individuals who no matter what your opinion will defend your right to say it even if they don't agree with you and will offer their own advice and support.

ECF is like no other forum around.

QFT it is an Oasis in itself and the recent addition of lol only enriches it.

I registered with a new name over there since none of my MustangSallie posts ever went through, and no notification of being banned. You will know me as the CrazyWeimLady. You may call me Crazy, or CWL if you like. See you on the other side. :)
Crazy....crazy? Yes that fits Bailey approves :D

Shannon did you type QFT you think because you're so used to typing QSMB these days? Maybe it's the QSMB who is brainwashing us, not -lol-. :)

No normally I'd leave out the F. But I felt the need to be emphatic...sometimes the F just gives that extra little umph....only the letter of course the full word is only necessary when you hit your knee extremely hard on the very sharp corner of your coffee table.
