For the record, I do not fancy myself the leader or moderator of anything or any one. Other than trying - along with everyone else - to keep the peace and remain civil, so I don't understand why people would get that impression of me, specifically?
It's understandable that in your role as CASAA and in the way you presented your perspective on nicotine, along with many others remaining silent (that has nothing to do with you), that people (particularly in any opposition group) look to you as the natural leader. That's always going to be the case in any social dynamic, everybody wants to concentrate their efforts on ~one~ person. Unfortunately the burden of undoing that perspective is difficult because the silent will likely remain silent even if you go.... "I don't want this"...
However, you've never taken the role but you also inadvertently assign it when you use language like "his
thread".... I've done that in this
thread when I was just trying to point out who was taking ~a~ lead on a particular effort. That wasn't meant to imply general leadership but it inadvertently did.
This dynamic has nothing to do you with, it just is a human thing. We're broken like that.
Also, I am not really a "supplier." My little artsy side hobby barely breaks even and my cases are sold with multiple purposes. Recently I have sold more for use with the pill organizers and for feminine products than for e-cigarettes. I'm no more of an "e-cigarette supplier" than Hobby Lobby is for selling Lorann's flavorings.
That was just credibility assassination by innuendo going on. As if there is some big $$ payment you get out of advocating e-cigs. It was part of the nonsensical undercurrent of the drama that was/is going on.
Finally, I have never claimed e-cigarettes were anything more than SAFER than
tobacco cigarettes. I do not claim that they are "safe" because, while all evidence to date suggests it's highly likely to be safe for the majority of smokers, there isn't enough scientific research to "prove" it. Of course, nothing is ever proven 100% safe for 100% of the population....
Gravity is a HUGE risk to society. Without gravity so many lives would be saved from sudden impact deaths.
You didn't, people turned your nicotine argument into the sole perspective you were coming from. Even I went "Did she just say that?" when it came to some of your posts. It came across as absolute if you didn't read other posts, from you, to retain the context of how long and convoluted the whole discussion got. It was cherry-picking on the part of the readership until you could get caught up (which clearly some people in the Q didn't even bother trying to do).
Just so that is clear to anyone else who may be questioning my motivation or integrity.
Yeah yeah, same thing I hear from the Girl Scouts and their so-called fund raising cookies.. Pfft. ;-)
I'm not questioning your motivation or integrity. -Magnus
