Not you, phonedude's hilarious comment about the missionaries... -Magnus

Oh... I didn't see that comment. Must have been an edit.

Phonedude,

Apparently there are 14 million+ worldwide. Since Utah has a population of less than 3 million, they obviously can't all live here. :)

I too see the missionaries quite often. It didn't start though until my neighbors found out my wife and I aren't Mormon. I live less than 5 minutes away from BYU and their "training center"...

They have a very nice choir.

...and a very big salty lake.

...that looks kind of like a two-toned keebler elf...

I've been there a couple times. It stinks.

I'm really sorry to hear about your friend. I hope he was/is able to make a full recovery.

That was better than five years ago, he's in good shape now other than scarring, and back working with the same stuff, and trying to talk me into going back to it. Which considering I'm more or less unemployed at the moment is getting tempting, though I've been out of it long enough that catching back up will be almost like starting over.

For better or worse, I tend to over think things. When it comes to items that can potentially maim or kill me, that's probably a good thing.

Not a bad thing, just need to eventually make the decision. It's all about finding what level of risk you're comfortable with, can't live risk free, and I for one would hate to try. The biggest problem with mod batteries is they're off the shelf rechargeables, and while I'm sure the engineers designing them were at least relativity competent, they in most case probably didn't figure someone would be essentially sucking on them when, or if something went wrong.

Has anybody tried to give out http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/ecf-merchandise/113637-free-ecf-business-cards.html ??

Would you change anything about them? I'm curious given recent experiences at Q and elsewhere, and discussions here, what changes would be made? -Magnus

I haven't. To be honest I haven't ordered any. I do have some similar cards that I get with various orders from vendors. I just can't get anyone to "bite". I often vape in public but have only once had anyone inquire. And she didn't look like a likely candidate for a card.

I keep hoping to find some converts.

I have all my collected family genealogy stored in the Mormon granite mountain vault in Salt Lake City. My dad has collected 200 years of family tree on his side and combined with my uncle's research of 100 years on my mother's side.

One noteable ancestor in our tree is Samual Clemens (Mark Twain) - not a direct lineage but in the tree. I particularly like this quote about living life: “Sing like no one's listening, love like you've never been hurt, dance like nobody's watching, and live like its heaven on earth.”

Other than the fact we were just discussing, there are technically still fire hazards, they look good as a general use, quick bit of info. They definitively offer up a great resource for anyone interested in learning more with the ECF address on them.

That's cool. I found out I was related to Nathaniel Hawthorne and Bridget Bishop (first woman executed during the Salem witch trials) on my father's side. I like that quote.

Just finished watching the videos linked in Li-poly battery fire footage, From a link in the battery thread. Interesting watch, and ironically enough considering this thread it seams the culprit was a Li-Po battery for an RC helicopter. The battery explosions are in the third part, but the whole thing is worth watching. Will certainly make you think twice about just leaving your batteries charging unattended, especially after you've dropped your PV. Looking at my ego batts that tend to regularly fall out of my pocket in a whole new light.

I'm a bit of a battery "guy". Mostly because I've been doing it on my other hobby (RC stuff) and partly because I worked for a US battery company supplying LiPos to hobbyists.

As with all batteries and electronics, care needs to be taken. RC applications are often times pushed beyond what the battery should do. What I mean by this is, batteries are over discharged and then put on a charger too quickly. Or, in an attempt to save time, they dump too much power back in, too quickly.

Honestly, all batteries can "pop", even Nickel chemistries. None of them should be left charging unattended.

I regularly give out ECF business cards along with this tri-fold CASAA brochure...
http://www.casaa.org/files/CASAA-Ecig-TriFold-Brochure.pdf

There are some small changes I'd like to see made to both.

I bought a Liposack after reading that thread.

That would be a great opener on a first date hehe. Yeah it's amazing enough to check through your ancestry to see what's there. Most people will have a known historical character or more to point to. Six degrees of seperation and all that.

I'll definitely be picking your brain when I can get back into the hobby. On my last few flights with my T-Rex my batteries were looking like sausages afterwards, so I'll be looking for good replacements for them as part of my rebuild.

Haven't been to Helifreak in awhile, I'm way behind on the latest and greatest Heli stuff.

A $5 crock pot will do the same thing. I use one when charging my batteries.

I'm always here and there. I'm everywhere :) I might be typing this from behind your couch, or in your closet, or in your pantry..... ;)

Screwing up my wife's crock pot is not conducive to a long and healthy life.
:)

EDIT: Wait, you can get a crock pot for $5 somewhere?
EDIT: Meh, doesn't matter, keeping a crock pot in the laundry room would not be cool anyway.
EDIT: The Liposack I can fold up and put in a drawer.

They certainly look like a good idea, but....

.... sounds like a great idea. Surprised I didn't think of it, considering I'm staring at a couple of cheapo crock pots sitting on my workbench, holding chemicals I need contained for another hobby. Looks like I should add that to my shopping list for my next trip to Walmart, thanks.
