Generally I think that is what most people care about. I'm happy it has helped you and your wife so much. It has certainly helped me as well.

I hope no one thinks I'm taking an anti e-cig stance, because I'm not. I'm just questioning the oft-quoted "fantastic" success rate. Debate is good, though I feel I'm doing terribly.

And it is right that that statistics, findings, conclusions and so forth be questioned. Doubtful statistics, if proven incorrect, cast a pall of uncertainty over everything we say. We do have to be able to back up whatever we say. No argument there.

You're debating well, don't question yourself about that. Your posts are always read with the greatest interest. (By me, at least!)

While I would love to believe that we helped people, I really think through our fighting we, meaning both sides, probably chased away more new people then we helped. I think the fact that the e-cig sub forum was created is the true success. Perhaps there will be new members who will come in our place. Members who will be able to use that foundation and build on it. SimplySimon appears to be well received, as does Renstyle. Hopefully there will be more, and if they are able to post everywhere and blend in a bit more than we did, it will feel like less of an invasion and they won't be chased away. That is, if Fred even keeps the board the way it is now.

Thanks, I appreciate the answer as opposed to a "go look it up", even if I probably could have found it somewhere on this site by searching myself, the rules, and assorted practices here are really well documented.

Certainly don't expect you to go into the why, just glad to know she'll be back. This thread would be a lot less entertaining without her.

Personally, I believe if the entire population of people who have tried an electronic cigarette were surveyed we would find...

--20% success rate for those that bought a bad model and got no support
--35% success rate for those that bought a good model and got no support
--55% success rate for those that had support from someone using an electronic cigarette
--80% success rate for those that found this forum

NOTE: This is all just wild speculation on my part but hopefully someday we will have better information

That's a good optimistic view, I think.

(I doubt many were "chased away." The site doesn't get that much traffic.)

Anecdotal evidence suggests that you are probably pretty close. I'm sure you have them ranked properly even if the numbers might be off.

I've been reading damn near every word ever spoken on this forum for over two years now.
And I have always had a knack for absorbing mass quantities of anecdotal data.

Of course the question remains as to how well I process that data.

On another note, I got my GV VV Ego Passthru a bit ago; I love it. My Sapphire works much better at 3.7V.

Keeping my eyes open for an email saying they're back in stock, but please do let me know if you wind up having problems with it.

My 4th sapphire hit the trash this morning. I'm just hoping the 5th lasts long enough to get my order of 510 dual coils, and whatever else I ordered, which at this point I don't remember. I think you may need an option for those that needed the 'something missing', be it through a source of WTA, Snus, Stonewall what have you.

Well I'm talking to my dr. on friday & may try e cig for quitting since I blew my over 10 month quit over the wkend. I know my body can't handle real cigs. even if I do like it.
