Yeah, Im not getting much for leaks...short of the one I broke already. I think the pefumy thing must be the primer, because Mine has subsided after about a half tank.
Im with you on the spare wicking material..would be nice to see that stocked somewhere. I hate to think Id have to buy a load of ce2's just to tear the wick out of them so I can get a stellar performance from the sahpires :p

I got a question for some of you drippers out there. I've been dripping a lot more lately but my atomizer gets really hot to the touch after one or two short draws. Then I get the burnt taste.

I'm using a 1.8 ohm atty on my eGo clone T-Rex battery. Do I need a little higher ohm atty? I usually take long slow draws.

Let me know what y'all think.

I am strictly a dripper, and I like to take long slow drags too... about five or six second drags.

I tried a 1.5 ohm 510 atomizer at true 3.7 volts (18650 battery) and I hated it because it made my juices taste burnt.
I later tried a 2.0 ohm 510 atomizer and it was a lot better than the 1.5 ohm atomizer, but I still got a bit of a burnt taste.

I have since decided to just stick with the standard 2.3 ohm 510 atomizers.
They are just right for me.
:)

I ran into the same type of issue with the 2.0 ohm attys that come with the LF Riva SE kits, kept thinking I was doing something wrong.

My issues also stopped with a higher resistance atty, think mine are SmokeTech 2.6ohm, works great on the riva, so the response on the T-Rex should be identical.

Thanks to both of you. That's what I thought but wasn't sure.

In reading this thread (not that I've read the whoooole thing...) and some of the threads on the quit smoking forum, I was reminded of a few years ago when I lurked on a different quit smoking forum. I was trying to "get ready" to quit smoking, so searched for a forum to see if that would help.

I can't remember if they had an e-cigarette section. If they did, I don't know if I would have chosen to read it. What the heck is that? If I had, it would have been because, hey, it was on the quit smoking forum, so it must have something to do with quitting smoking, like the patch or gum.

I think we won a victory in having the e-cigarette forum added to their site. E-cigarettes being on a quit smoking forum helps legitimize them as an option as a smoking cessation product.

To me, it seems that's what some people were struggling against. There are people on the quit site who do not see e-cigarettes as legitimate smoking cessation devices, and they are not going to change their minds about that unless the FDA approves and regulates them as such. And they didn't want their board promoting e-cigarettes as a method to quit smoking.

It's a shame that some of the exchanges that were going on in those threads became so bitter and hurtful, but, otherwise, I think it's ok that the threads showed there is some debate on the matter. Heated debate. That's where vaping is right now - in the midst of debate.

Those threads will encourage people who are intrigued by the debate to look into vaping further before they make their decision whether they want to try it. I think that's a great outcome. I'm just guessing, but people who seek out information on e-cigs (and start calling them PV's!) are the ones most likely to succeed.

Those who are discouraged by the debate will likely be similar in beliefs as the current quit members who are opposed to e-cigarettes. They probably wouldn't have been interested no matter what was in those threads. And that's ok, too.

I think the struggle between viewpoints is at the core of the broader issue. Either it's regulated as a tobacco product or it's regulated as a smoking cessation device. IT BOGGLES THE MIND THAT IT COULD BE BOTH AT THE SAME TIME...unless you've tried it and it's worked for you. Almost effortlessly. And then, it still kinda boggles your mind.

Are there other options??? Can we change the debate?

Some good thoughts there izabella. If I had come across a quit smoking forum and seen information on e-cigs I know I would have read it. I was vaguely aware of them. I was curious. And I knew the local smoke shops sold one but was reluctant to talk to the clerk in the store about them. I had read the fine print on one of the "free" offers and thought maybe they were just a scam.

So I agree. Getting any information available on the quit smoking forums will help people, at least people in the situation I was in.

Ok this may not be news to some but I have never seen it mentioned anywhere so just in case it is... hubby taught me that you do NOT in fact have to use a syringe to fill a CE2. You can remove the inner cap with the holes and drip down the sides.

Here's the catch if you do this you either have to remove and reinsert the cap for every refill or you can't lay your carto on it's side. Without the inner cap if you lay it on it's side all you liquid will leak right out of the top.

I am now doing this with mine and just leaving the inner cap off unless we go somewhere. I work from a home office right now so it's pretty easy for me to do this.

Hopefully at least one person will find this useful.

I'm drip challenged phonedude so I'd be more hinderance than help. When I drip I get like three good puffs on a fresh atty after that it's either burning or leaking from over dripping.

That's my problem Shannon. I burned out two atty's in two days and never got a good puff out of either. :( After my recent Sapphire disaster, I think I'll to stick with cartomizers until something idiot proof comes along.

Shoot, you just tempted me to try them. I smell another disaster in my future. :p

w a removed seal on clearos just use a good driptip and don't fill them all the way...combine that w the syringe mod and dripping and they are pretty good...and yes then you don't have to worry about tipping them...the driptip will stop leaks if you don't fill them all the way...took a little fine tuning but I got it to where I can see how much to put in before the level was too high ...end result...drippers atty from .....well you get the point....

makes it a PITA to clean tho......if ya try to remove a clearo from a syringe it will break...so you would have to use the same method you use w a steel ce2 to clean...(funny thing is I fine tuned that too)

and I'm srry shannon...I'm great with figuring out how things work and how to eek every last erg of performance out of it but I consistently forget people don't have my thought process so natural progression for me is months to years of research and exp for someone else...

BTW Shannon don't spend any money on VV yet...I will start building your new toy tomorrow...pics to follow...your choice on if the people here get to see them by my posting them or you...ETA completion one week or less...if it was normal size it would be hrs but you know I am building it small...save your money for a few batteries...

PS you and hubby will have to decide who gets it.... I only have parts for the one...

One last thing I know you told me once but what type of batteries will I need and if you can point me to the best place for them and the charger that would be awesome.

ETA: Oh and no worries other than juice and cartos no ecig purchases until after the back to school shopping is done.

I grabbed some E2s on my last order from MadVapes. Haven't had a chance to use them yet. Been enjoying my Vapage hybrid atomizer too much to bother with them. For those that have issues with flooding the atty while dripping, the Vapage hybrid might be worth checking out. Clouds of Vapor and Vapage carry them.

Shannon, MadVapes has a large selection of chargers.
