This will probably start lolady on a new blog but I read this and its True...and I figured we all need a good laugh today...

In the line at the store, the cashier told an older woman that she should bring her own grocery bags because plastic bags weren't good for the environment. The woman apologized to him and explained, "We didn't have the green thing back in my day."

The clerk responded, "That's our problem today. Your generation did not care enough to save our environment."

He was right -- our generation didn't have the green thing in its day.

Back then, we returned milk bottles, soda bottles and beer bottles to the store. The store sent them back to the plant to be washed and sterilized and refilled, so it could use the same bottles over and over. So they really were recycled.

But we didn't have the green thing back in our day.

We walked up stairs, because we didn't have an escalator in every store and office building. We walked to the grocery store and didn't climb into a 300-horsepower machine every time we had to go two blocks.

But she was right.. We didn't have the green thing in our day.

Back then, we washed the baby's diapers because we didn't have the throw-away kind. We dried clothes on a line, not in an energy gobbling machine burning up 220 volts -- wind and solar power really did dry the clothes. Kids got hand-me-down clothes from their brothers or sisters, not always brand-new clothing.

But that old lady is right; we didn't have the green thing back in our day.

Back then, we had one TV, or radio, in the house -- not a TV in every room. And the TV had a small screen the size of a handkerchief (remember them?), not a screen the size of the state of Montana. In the kitchen, we blended and stirred by hand because we didn't have electric machines to do everything for us. When we packaged a fragile item to send in the mail, we used a wadded up old newspaper to cushion it, not Styrofoam or plastic bubble wrap. Back then, we didn't fire up an engine and burn gasoline just to cut the lawn. We used a push mower that ran on human power. We exercised by working so we didn't need to go to a health club to run on treadmills that operate on electricity.

But she's right; we didn't have the green thing back then.

We drank from a fountain when we were thirsty instead of using a paper cup or a plastic bottle every time we had a drink of water. We refilled writing pens with ink instead of buying a new pen, and we replaced the razor blades in a razor instead of throwing away the whole razor just because the blade got dull.

But we didn't have the green thing back then.

Back then, people took the streetcar or a bus and kids rode their bikes to school or walked instead of turning their moms into a 24-hour taxi service. We had one electrical outlet in a room, not an entire bank of sockets to power a dozen appliances. And we didn't need a computerized gadget to receive a signal beamed from satellites 2,000 miles out in space in order to find the nearest pizza joint.

But isn't it sad the current generation laments how wasteful we old folks were just because we didn't have the green thing back then?

Please forward this on to another selfish old person who needs a lesson in conservation from a smart-... young person.

I hate those chain mail crap but this was hillarious...its also why my mom only has my toss mail addy...she doesn't understand how she gets all her viruses...well stop clicking all the links your friends send ya...lol

would be for a specific mod I am sending her Nate and I am to blame for that...I changed designs mid build...the first was going to be AA rechargeable powered....now its 10440...

Doesn't change my recommendation to get a charger at MadVapes. The charger I got there handles 10440 to 18650 and everything in between.

Dripping is the best vape you can get, it just takes time to find your swing of things. A day or two in, and you'll have it down to a science. But I vape massive amounts daily, so I stick to lr cartos or lr cylinder atties. Saphires are working ok so far, but not QUITE as good as lr boges. I love their look though. But anyhow, if I was only using 1-2 ml a day, I might be a dripper, and I was for a short time. :p

nope not differing with your recommendation of where to buy a charger...just clarifying her confusion...initially I was suggesting powergenix batteries and their charger as NiZN need a special charger...

You might actually like this mod nate...it is easily hidden in a woman's hand let alone a man's...its zippo lighter sized...

Hi chief...hows the kids...keeping ya busy...

This will probably start lolady on a new blog

 I hadn't really thought about it, but that's all true! I also remember that every house didn't have a washing machine - there was a functionary called The Laundry Man who came twice a week and took away all the dirty clothes - household linens, towels, bedclothes - everything but underpants and stockings - and brought back the clean ones, wrapped up in brown paper.

I still have a handful of ancient pillowcases and towels, the corners embroidered by my grandmother in red cotton thread with my grandfather's initials.

He had been in Heaven for decades by the time I was born, but until the dawn of Modern Today ( or as you may have heard it called in history books, the 1950s) took The Laundry Man away, she marked every single thing with the name of the only man she ever loved - down to the lowliest dishrag, which back then, would be kept for years and years - and which today we buy at the dollar store and use to wash cars when they get dirty, and then throw them away!

And oh! I did finally get around to hosing off a couple more of the cartomizer blogrants, so they are up, and also a Breaking News one to tell of Vapian's Wonderful Invention, and the long-awaited discovery of Colorful Cartomizer Hats!

I also added a "quitsmoking" tag to a mess of the blogrants. Was that the right text string to use for that "SEO" stuff Magnus and I think, Randy, were trying to explain to us?

If you get the stainless ones you don't have to deal with the cracking and leaking... I'm waiting for a verdict from hobovito (sorry if I miss spelled that) on the revision 5 clearos.

It's Hobotivo, (the last part comes from the TiVo DVR which I used to be involved in hacking), but it doesn't matter. The shipment has cleared customs so hopefully I'll get the clearo's tomorrow.

Cheers

It would work for charging batteries, but not for powering a passthru. However, the link you gave shows it to be currently unavailable.

I grabbed some E2s on my last order from MadVapes. Haven't had a chance to use them yet. Been enjoying my Vapage hybrid atomizer too much to bother with them. For those that have issues with flooding the atty while dripping, the Vapage hybrid might be worth checking out. Clouds of Vapor and Vapage carry them.

Shannon, MadVapes has a large selection of chargers.
Welcome back Nate. I'll look and see. I located one but I can still comparison shop.

Ohhh BC you just don't understanhd. I started out dripping. My 1st set up I had no carts or cartos, after a couple weeks I caved and moved to cartos.

Exactly! It's an upgrade. It's not about depriving oneself of pleasure, but obtaining mo betta pleasure. That's what makes a gap so wide that even the common ground of dumping tobacco cigarettes can't quite bridge it. I don't want to call it unbridgeable, but it's certainly bridge-resistant...

blue8091, Shannon, et al, I'm honored to be followed around and head-inflated that you all say such nice things, but I'm the one sitting at feet - thousands of feet, including yours and standing on your shoulders at the same time. (luckily, I've managed to remain very flexible)

I learn so much from you every day - shoot, just in the last couple of weeks, without you all, I probably would have sent off for those fancy new cartomizers, but thanks to all that feet-sitting and shoulder-standing,

I don't understand the fuss about this. Anyone who wants 5 can send $10 off to litecigusa and they will send you a fine KR808-d1 electric hookah-doodle*** that you can plug into the wall with a Special Rodent and puff 5 continuously all day and all night, too, if your sleep disorder permits.

Works for me. But then, I'm easily accommodated.

Oh, yes, I forgot to tell you - I've been feeling so much better that I was able to wrestle through the boxes and piles and actually find my old cigarette holders - and I do mean OLD. ****

Yes, LibertarianNate, if you're lurking, including one very much like Audrey's.

But I am saddened to tell you that the circumference of a KR808d-1 wireless is just a teensy smoosh larger than that of a Marlboro.

So in case anybody was thinking of obtaining a cigarette holder, don't bother, because electric cigarettes will not fit in them.

Yet another bleeding, wailing gap in the market, which we will have to wait for some enterprising and fashion-conscious soul to step up and fill...

Thank you Clay, for such a short and succinct explanation of just what an EPIC hoot we are talking about here!

I'm still trying to get those next 2 blogrants hosed off, and maybe even divided into sentences, possibly even some with fewer than 600 words!

And as so often happens, I am now laughing too hard to type!

** Unscheduled Zombie Attack Preparedness

*** The color selection is limited, but is that not why the universe has given us nail polish?

**** (They were, appropriately, stuffed in a box with some equally old pit-length gloves and little blinged out face powder containers we called "compacts" and similarly ornamental lipstick tube covers. The idea was that refreshing your powder and lipstick in public would be somehow less impolite if they were in these beautifully pimped out containers, but I have to confess that I was never able to bring myself to do that, so mine got to be admired only by whoever happened to be in the ladies room!

And now I never go anywhere. But I have resolved to decorate a couple wireless e-cigarettes from my UZAP Kit to harmonize with a couple of the compact/lipstick holder sets, and the next time I do go somewhere, even if it's only to the home of a family member for some festive occasion, I'm going to whip out my beautiful blinged stuff and apply powder and lipstick in full view of all present, and make sure that everybody notices how beautifully my e-cigarette does not "match," but "goes").

:D
Yes, Yes, I DO understand that technical writing is DRY...hence my recommendation!!!

How wonderful you have some of the "earlier model" cig holders - wayyyy cool!!! Look at all your other goodies!! Very neat! I have found that if I take the 808XL and attach a mega carto - I can get 6" of pure delight and I can use it ALL DAY (LOL)!!! So, will wait for the mega-mega carto and the XXL 808 so I can perhaps vape AND type with it at the same time. If they would just make the LED tips..laser dots..well then I could add driving my dog crazy to the all at once version!

Anxiously awaiting your next blog!!!

I haven't posted in here for a bit. I just wanted to pass on that e cig people can successfully quit. I didn't wean myself off (and have to agree with part of what the non smoking forum guys say about that). I quit smoking cigs almost 6 months ago. Aug 2 would be 6 months. I am now day 2 without vaping and the withdrawal symptoms are way less. I had a tough time last night at work for a few hours but today it bothers me even less.

I was eperiencing minor breathing issues and found more and more flavourings were making me cough. I vaped unflavoured for about 3 weeks to a month I guess (maybe longer?) and got bored of it so just stopped. I feel even better but now my pot belly is a bigger concern (I ran out of food 3 hrs into my shift last night LOL) and I am hungry earlier in the day than normal... nicotine is somewhat of an appetite suppressant

Since I like the 808xls - I did grab some G5's and so far I've had really good luck with them. Not had one leak or crack - the vape and taste is fabulous!! I like using it best on my pass-thru - then REALLY yummie. I have to keep it vertical at all times though - so it's a non-mobile clearo for me. I just stick it in my pencil holder when I'm not vaping on it! I only fill them about 75% and so far so good. I've been rotating the same 5 for about 2.5 weeks now...just refilling when they get low. Refill is super ez as the rubber cap pops out and an eye dropper will just bit down next to the center tube. I got these just to dink around with know they were not perfected yet...but LOVE the zero batting and being able to see when my juice is just about gone :D

I also started dripping about 2 weeks ago and LOVE IT. I got a RIVA 510 from Liberty Flights. I've been having a blast with it!!! It's kinda fun making smokers/non-smokers cough with it..lol. Then I tell them..yes, yes vaping is for SISSIES..NOT!
