the bright side is the e-cigarette industry seems to be moving rather fast right now so if not today perhaps tomorrow?
How like you to point out the bright side!

And you are absolutely right!
On reflection, I shouldn't be surprised that wireless ones with 5 haven't happened yet. After all, the KR808d-1 2nd Generation's claim to fame is that people can be plugged into the wall and only have 3.7!
The
throat hit of 5 is just not as popular with as many people! But enough people like it so that the market will cough something up - especially as more older ladies with hands that get tired come over to Our Side!
portable power pack with usb ports...you just need to find one rated to push 2 amps or more...
Thanks! How would I work it, exactly? Would I just plug my hookah-doodle into that and keep it in my purse, with the wire trailing out, kind of like the headphones trail up from the mp3 player?
It definitely looks like something to ponder - especially if I come across a budget version that has two of the amp flavor globules. That's the only number I have to match up?
I do not have any cigarette type {volt, magma} devices that will do 5v... I have a couple I'd be willing to lend you...I have a small, very small lending library......
Thank you so much, cigarbabe! That is so generous and kind, and a very great honor, but I'm afraid I am one of "those people" for whom the cigarette resemblance irrationally and senselessly important.
I keep reading that this will go away, that it is just something people have at first, but it hasn't gone away for me yet.
Truth be told, I'm kind of glad you don't have any cigarettish ones, because I would be
sorely tempted to take you up on your beautiful offer, when in good conscience, I could not. I just take too many pills and am way too dependent on others to be a good lending library risk.
Have you tried using something like the eGo, or bigger mods? How do you feel about "box" shaped mods?...
I've only used KR808d-1s. Isn't the iGO a sort of variation of the eGO? The consideration of that is about as big and un-cigarettish as I think I could realistically go, even in my imagination. Plus, I don't think the eGos have 5 anyway. Didn't you all just say none of them does?
So many things seem to be about battery life, which isn't my issue. I don't mind carrying around a few extra batteries and changing over when one begins to drift off.
I just want one that is cigarette-like, takes KR808d-1 cartomizers, and produces the same 5 kind of throat hit I get plugged into the wall.
put a blog entry describing what you are looking for and asking for suggestions. I'm betting enough people enjoy your entries that you'll be overwhelmed with suggestions...
People are so good here, I know they would! I've already received so much of every kind of help and advice and encouragement from everybody!
I wanted to do the blog to try to give something back, in case any of my stumblings around might be helpful to other ancient and decrepit people who take pills and drift off and wake up in puddles of 555 juice, and you've all been so nice to click it to win Best Blog, so I wouldn't feel right about using it just to ask for advice about my own whims and particular notions, especially since I have the whole forum to do that in.
Just look at all the Leading Experts - like you - I have right here!

What do you mean by "cobbled together juice"?...
Doing it with juice won't be as awful as all that, I was just indulging myself in some pouting.
I have two kinds, one called "Latakia" and one I received as a gift, called "PureCig." By themselves, each has more "throat hit" than even I like, so what I'll do is mix some caramel and almond, maybe a little vanilla in, just enough to reduce the throat hit to one that feels like the electric hookah-doodle even with a short wireless one that has been out of the charger for a while.
This will be my best bet for the nonce, while I learn more about and ponder the "power pack" thing.
The "Latakia" I got when the Gourmet Vapor company had a 50% off sale. They have this cool "Learn from Your Mistakes" clickatootum where you can design your own juice, with so much % of this, so much % of that.
Well, Latakia is a kind of tobacco that I knew tasted and smelled good, from childhood memories of old farts smoking their pipes and arguing about which little village grew the bestest. But what I didn't know is that pipe tobacco isn't just about tobacco, it has other stuff in it. So I designed myself a little bottle of just Latakia! And learned from my mistake!
510->KR808 adapters can be found for less than $5...
I have one! But it is put away, and I'll probably go into my PIF, when my taste buds come back, because keeping track of two different tribes, and more little bits and pieces of things, is among those activities that are a good fit for people who are not quite as loopy I am such a large percentage of the time.
members who post in this thread are the best and brightest members on ECF!
I'll bet you say that to all the threads!
I don't know, but Alaska...Why did Wiscon sin?
(Insert massive groan rising up from ten thousand throats here)
Go to the Benny Hill Show. Go directly to the Benny Hill Show. Do not pass GO, and do not collect $200.
And consider yourself pelted with extremely gooey cupcakes.
In other news, there are some things I've been meaning to say to
MustangSallie, and I keep forgetting, or not wanting to hijack the thread, or forgetting that this particular thread is for all practical purposes, unhijackable:
Right now I think either Anya or Oliver will win. This is very bad news for them, because any picks I make before e07 are almost always wrong.
I started out wanting so much to root for Bert. Not just because he's over 25 and therefore "old," but because he basically already won Project Runway 40 yrs ago, or won what you'd hope to get from winning it. The only place to go after where he was is Karl Lagerfeld.
He lost the love of his life AND has alcoholism so he'll be in double recovery for the rest of his life, and thus looked really good to beat even the cancer survivor for the TearJerker advantage.
I admired him for having the guts to go back to the beginning and go on a reality show with a bunch of kids who don't know the difference between Victorian and Elizabethan.
If he's your favorite, I hope you won't be offended, but he's made it impossible for me to keep liking him, and now I'm just mad at him.
Maybe he's been very isolated since his tragedy, even from TV, and is sincerely surprised to learn that the bulk of his competitors are essentially design nerds and dressmaking savants who are otherwise barely literate, and maybe he's getting a bad edit, but even so, his behavior comes across as churlish and unseemly.
He had a wonderful opportunity to use his advantages to set a good example for all those young designers, and instead he's done nothing but put his picture in the dictionary next to "ungracious."
