I tried explaining, but I guess that they thought because I look young I didn't really need it. I had to walk back to the car (.4 miles according to my phone) to store the cane and of course my foot was hurting by the time I got back and I was limping. Apparently they then realized I really did need it and said I could now bring it in...

No way was I going to do that back-and-forth again...

Thanks guys and gals... Glad I'm not the only person who thought the whole thing was stupid. That venue has been placed on my "Never in a Million Years" list.

Maybe it's a good thing I didn't have my cane... There were a couple of times I probably would have used it to beat someone over the head. The mosh pit got a little crazy. At one point the band even stopped playing to address the issue. I've been to a lot of concerts and last night was the first time I actually thought it was getting out of hand.

No more GA concerts for me. They wouldn't let me bring my cane in because they thought I'd use it as a "weapon." :censored:

Uncool. When you reclaimed it, did you hit somebody with it and tell them now you see their point? *thwack* *thwack thwack* -Magnus

That reminds me of the pen incident at Comic-Con 2010. They were so worked up about cosplay weapon checking. And in one of the halls two fans got into it and a pen to the eye was the weapon. It's meaningless to enforce general object weapon checks. That's been played out at sport's venues for decades. Sorry Nate, that does indeed suck. -Magnus

What is THAT all about??

Sorry I've been scarce again. Been busy fighting the ANTZ and posting in other parts of the forum for once (been neglecting my posting duties, lol!) And I was putting in a lot of time revamping CASAA's YouTube channel - I think it's looking pretty damn good now! :) School is starting tomorrow & been getting ready and also been trying (and failing) to drum up some business to get the bills paid. My business partner hasn't had any closings back in Milwaukee in a while, so I was hoping to sell some more cases. Oh, well. I'm so tired of being part of the "working poor!" Too broke to make ends meet, too "rich" to qualify for any help (not that I think I would apply for it anyhow - I'm too fracking proud.) My Mom told me the other day, "People like you are who those programs were SUPPOSED to be helping. They weren't intended to be a lifestyle." I love my mom. *sigh* I miss the heyday of real estate sales, but even back then I knew it couldn't last forever. :( Now that the littlest one will be in school part of the day, I'm going to be looking for job #4 (if I include "housewife" as one job, lol!)

Well, summer schedule of late nights is over - have to get up at the crack of dawn and this night owl doesn't rise and shine easily!! Night all!

@Magnus Aww I'm so sorry you are that ill babe but if you've had a fever for a few days you might want to check into the local ER especially if an aspirin, rest, ice cube bath/wrap hasn't helped.

@Kristen I'm sure it's wishful thinking on her part and since there is little comprehension on their parts for most of what we've tried to express to them, I wanted to clarify!
Besides didn't she say she was leaving because we are hateful, rude and mean people?

@Sally it may be the "thing" for your hubby that he never got before from vaping?
I haven't really had that problem but sometimes I feel like I want a cig so most anxious to try this out.
Will have it in two days from now.
Yeah!
Goodnight all!
Sleep well....

Yes very odd per her usual self I guess.
Care to try some of the "sure to be yummy" WTA's?
C.B.

Hey C.B. I seem to be fine without the WTAs so I'm going to pass. In fact I was doing 0mg nic for over a month after the oral surgery I had last month, so I also seem to be "ok" without the nic. I've added nic back now, but I'm going to hold off on the WTAs. So far my husband has been fine without them too, at least I think he has. It's been over a month now for him without cigarettes and he hasn't mentioned any problems. I have to go over there to find the exact date, I'm curious and I can't remember. I know I made a post about it the 2nd day into zero analogs for him. In fact just the other day he was crowing about having quit smoking and being eager to tell his cardiac specialist about it. :) Thank you for the offer!

Hi Kristin, good to hear from you again! You sound like you've been very busy, but productive as well. Aww, your baby is going to school! :) I hope she enjoys it, I hated my first year. I was the kinda kid who was permanently Velcro'd to my mother outside of the house and that obviously wasn't an option when I started going to school. Good luck finding another job, I'm sorry to hear your other ventures haven't been doing as well as you hoped. :(

@Magnus, I hope your fever broke by now. If not, I vote with C.B. If you're traveling right now, E.R. or at the very least an emergency clinic. Information that you probably have found on your own, but perhaps worth repeating here:

When trying to lower a fever:

Do NOT bundle up someone who has the chills.

Remove excess clothing or blankets. The room should be comfortable, not too hot or cool. Try one layer of lightweight clothing, and one lightweight blanket for sleep. If the room is hot or stuffy, a fan may help.

A lukewarm bath or sponge bath may help cool someone with a fever. This is especially effective after medication is given -- otherwise the temperature might bounce right back up.

Do NOT use cold baths, ice, or alcohol rubs. These cool the skin, but often make the situation worse by causing shivering, which raises the core body temperature.
