E-cigarettes: a burning question for U.S. regulators - chicagotribune.com

Is this guy serious? Wow the sad thing is people will nod their head in agreement with him...

"Essentially e-cigarette companies are selling nicotine addiction," said Dr. Neil Schluger, chief scientific officer for the World Lung Foundation, which advocates for tobacco control.

"Once you have them addicted to nicotine, you can sell them all sorts of things, including conventional cigarettes," he said. "This is a giant Trojan horse."

Fortunately, it seems most people don't believe that hogwash. For instance, some of the comments from the article display this:

"Oh and lets say some thing about nicotine...In of it self it is LESS harmful than CAFFEINE!!!"

....and so on.

"But the growing popularity of e-cigarettes has not escaped the notice of the industry's critics, who have stepped up calls for new regulations, including bans on their use in public places, even though the scientific evidence about exposure to their vapors remains inconclusive."

Seems that if they had even a leg to stand on they would be using it vigorously.

I'm not sure grasping at straws will be enough for them.

Let's line the regulators up in front of two people. One chain vaping, which is supposedly "scary" and needs to tamped down in our society, and the other drinking shot after shot. All the politicians who rail against the evils of e-cigs get to ride home with the drinker. :p

 I like the way you think, Jay-dub!
