"Representatives Henry Waxman of California and Peter Welch of Vermont, along with Sen. Tom Harkin of Iowa, have sent letters to the AGs in their respective states asking them to fold e-cigarettes into the MSA as a way of keeping the electronic devices out of the hands of children."

Waxman ....... it is always, "Fo' Da' Chillun'". NO it is always for PEOPLE CONTROL. From the top guy in the White House to the bowels of political prostitution ...... PEOPLE CONTROL.

"the MSA was designed to compensate for the harm done by cigarettes, e-cigs certainly were not responsible for that.”
This says it all, yet they treat the statement like its a mosquito buzzing. Grrrr.

If you think about it, it's anti-smoking crowd that is largely "responsible" for the rise of eCigs.

They challenged human ingenuity to come up with an alternative that isn't deadly to the user or bystanders, doesn't smell or leave a lingering smell, (arguably) doesn't create toxic litter -- one that people will readily switch to.

As they say, necessity is the mother of invention. Maybe if they had been truly interested in getting people off tobacco, they would have come up with eCigs in the first place and hailed it as a groundbreaking harm reduction device themselves. They certainly have had more funding and manpower than the Chinese pharmacist who made the first marketable eCig.

It really goes to show they are not really interested in saving lives or saving kids or protecting public health, it's really about money. I'm guessing they will all shut up about it if they find a way to profit from it.

Politicians protect to their death (lost elections) their revenue streams. A while back in Ohio (and in other states as well), a law was passed to allow income tax levies for school districts. Prior to that the schools could only propose property tax increases.

When an income tax levy was put on the ballot for our school district, ALL city employees, councilmen/women, and the Mayor, who get their revenue from income taxes, came out against the income tax for schools. And when I say "come out against" I mean scathing articles in local newspapers about the 'horror' it would bring. The income tax failed by a great margin.
