Hi guys and girls!

I was held back from e-cigs because of some negative hype I once read.. Well! I have since look into it further and I have learned that they are all good! [edited] are just trying to scare us cause they are losing money off the tobacco industry is all...

So... nice to be here I have much to learn. Can I start out with a question? Or better make that 2 now.. I have a cheap "Social Lites" e-cig to get me started, I have just ordered a joytech eroll for stealth but what should I buy to replace my crappy social lites e-cig? I want a medium sized "Rolls Royce" quality e-cig for home use. Any suggestions? Pure quality please... But I dont wanna get into mods yet either.

Big thanks, and thanks for havin me onboard.

Benn.

Hi Benn.
Nice post! Now, I'm afraid to tell you that all "Rolls Royce" e-cigs are basically mods. Sure, you can buy some decent quality pen batteries (ego/evod) but something reliable and long lasting will almost always be a mod.
You are right about Socialites. There are too many companies like this. They were the people who badge engineered an innokin e-cig and charged their customers £149 for a £39 mod. Nice, eh?
If you are determined to not get a mod (iStick or Coolfire for example) then I'd recommend an Innokin pen battery. CLK or iTaste vv4

Hi djsvapour, it is a pleasure to correspond with you. Thank you for some info. Looks like I'll have to delve into the modification ecig world sooner than later, which is not all that bad as I'm already thinking of stocking up on ecigs and eliquids due to possible market crash in regards to these products. I got the eroll off ebay from a store in Melbourne Australia. $69 Au. Look forward to talking with you more in future!

Cheers.

welcome! you want a real mod if you want a higher end product...dependable/easy to use

you can get a kit of something (many to choose from) or you can 'cut to the chase' and buy a good base and build from there.. ie,, right now we all seem to be in love with Pico mods.. then we all slap whatever tank we like on it.. everyone is dif,, and everyone has a great 'mod set up'

Hi and Welcome! You may want to check out Fasttech. You can get some thing like a Wismec Reuleaux SX200 for about 40 USD. I have owned one for about 8 or 9 months now. I only use it at home and it is a great mod you can do a lot with it. When you buy from Fasttech pay the shipping and only buy items that say they are "Authentic" Their prices are great but, shipping is a little slow. They are pretty fair and I have had very few issues with them over last 4 years.

Mods, whether tube or box-style, have attributes that work together to make good quality mod that will last. As you look at a mod listing for sale, note what they list as components. That is generally what everyone looks at in considering.

Here is a listing that I just randomly copied. Note: there are a lot of different views on the importance of some characteristics.

Features and Specs:
  • Dimensions:3-3/8" x 1-7/8" x 1" (Battery Only)
  • Spring Loaded/Stainless Steel 510 Thread
  • 3 Click lock/ unlock Feature
  • OLED Display
  • Vrms Power Regulation
  • Micro USB Charging Port "Vape while Charging"
  • Beautiful Case with a durable finish
  • Tri-Color LED Battery Level Indicator
  • 15 Second Cutoff Timer
  • Operating Voltage: 2.0V - 7.5V
  • Operating Wattage: 6.0W - 70.0W
  • Built In 3300mAh Battery
  • Standby current: 100uA max
  • Maximum output Wattage: 70W
  • Maximum output Current:26.5A
  • Maximum output Voltage: 7.5V
  • Clearomizer Resistance: 0.1 Ohm (minimum)
  • Charging: Micro USB DC 5V/1A
I listed it so that you can research and consider some of the terms. One thing that people differ on is whether to have an internal battery that can't be replaced (Built in)or one that the batteries can be removed and fresh batteries put in.

Lots to read. I do it most every day for an hour. Vaping is a hobby for me, though.

Cigs were sooo boring. Vaping is a biiig world to play in.

Welcome and Good luck!

Welcome. There are so many choices there are too many choices. There is a learning curve but once you know a few things it can take way less time than you used to spend outside smoking and cost just about nothing. I think a new vaper should start the traditional way, at about 10 watts on a 1.6-1.8 ohm coil and 12-18mg nic. A weak flavor will be easier than a strong one. Tootle along at low power for as long as possible. May be even forever.
