Its the people marketing it as a smoking cessation device that are going to ruin it for everyone :( The plot thickens .....

Rightly said so cash.....should have begin with a pro-alternative choice for smokers....misleading and misuse of information ....and certain logos...sigh...what a disaster.....now we need a big pharma to step in and rule the roost....sheesh....

He said WHO's non-communicable diseases and mental health assistant director-general Dr Ala Alwan had said there was no scientific evidence to confirm the product's safety or efficacy.

Nor is htere any scientific evidence to suggest that it is any worse than smoking hte 60 some odd carcinogens that you get from cigarettes, yet apparently, folks don't need to buy ciggs in pharmacies only in Bahrain?

First, thats in BahRain?
I am guessing they are different on a lot of things then we are.

It is not a smoking cessation device as people claim it is," said Dr Al Halwachi.

I dont get it?
How can these people keep saying this? What makes an item a smoking cessation device?
Ive seen CDs with music that say they are, and just about any other piece of garbage known to man, braclets, bands, magnets, hypnosis, and so on, and so on.
I dont get it, and these are so called "intellectuals"?

I Highly doubt they tested most of the crap Ive seen. Tell me the magnets you paste to your ear were clinically tested? Or the magnetic braclet, or the rubber bracelet you snap when you need a smoke? Or the Clicker you click like a pen button when you get nervous? and the flavored filters that look like a smoke? no way.

Very very true magus .... BUT ... none of these products are consumable thus, don't need/have to be regulated by the FDA.

only time will tell where this goes ... Any time I see a supplier advertising these as smoking cessation devices, I cringe.

If someone classifies esmoking devices as a smoking cessation device, essentially, they can then be classified as a gateway device as well.
Users start with zero nicotine cartridges, start loving it, decide to try low cartridges, get hooked, and BAM, addicted to the nic ...

... sigh ... i can see it now

Thanks Cash, now THAT was the answer i was looking for.
I never made the connection between in being injested, vs the classification.

I was offered a patch in the hospital as a pasifier once, but i didnt take it, like a glass of methadone i guess, hehe

I suppose the patch and the gum could be "gateways" too by that deffinition.
I do know those are established and have already bribed all the right people, thats the biggest hurdle, not what they do to or for us.

The Middle East. Here's Wikipedia:
The Kingdom of Bahrain ... is an island country in the Persian Gulf. Saudi Arabia lies to the west and is connected to Bahrain by the King Fahd Causeway, which officially opened on 25 November 1986. Qatar is to the south across the Gulf of Bahrain. The planned Qatar–Bahrain Friendship Bridge will link Bahrain to Qatar as the longest fixed link in the world.

Looks like they are on to our game eh?....WHO warning are really powerful..the ripple effect of an earthquake....and it is only the beginning....sigh....:(

Dammit anyway! Should I stock up on these things now and deplete my savings account - or should I wait a while for some new improved batches of e-cigs? What a dilema!

You'll always be able to get them from China. And that's just the problem. Then we lose control of the quality, and it's back to the unending rip-offs. "It's not like they stopped the watches, or the Ralph Lauren Polos"

I agree. You will probably be able to buy an e-cig no matter what the powers that be proclaim from atop mount WEWILLCONTROLYOU. The focus will be on the nic laden e-fluid. The device itself will not hurt you, it's the ammo it's loaded with. A gun is safe, it's the bullets that do the damage.

Stocking up on e-liquid would be the thing to do. When the FDA gets it's teeth into our juice it will go the way of nicotine water and nic-lollipops. Although I agree this will take months if not years. Dispite what they tell you about the evils of smoking, government wants you to get your nic from analog cigs, tax revenue. Tobacco bad, tax money generated good!
