Thanks Roger - that's a 'sign'.... We'll likely be seeing more on this as ecigs get more press.

You're right on the 'dual use' issue, but Glantz is truly wrong. Without a 'survey' but from personal anecdotal evidence here and in life, "dual use" has been along the lines of "I went from a pack and a half to 6 a day" - I know of 6 individuals, locally, where this was the case - 4 have since gone all vaping and two still have a few cigs a day - usually that first ones in the morning.

I went from an average of 50 a day to just 6 in the first week and I was opposed to even trying an e cig. That lasted for 7 months. Now it's been over 4 years since my last drag.

3 packs a day.... bought an ecig just to see what it was, not intending to quit - I loved smoking :D ...got a supermini - not enough vapor, then a 510 a week later, no smokes since then June of '09 :)

Ran into this today:

As Grant’s notes, cigarette shipments fell 4.6% in 2013, continuing a long-term slide and casting doubt upon the cigarette companies’ willingness or ability to continue increasing their payments by 3% a year, as spelled out in the MSA.

from: Who Needs Legislation? Dems Want To Extend Tobacco Settlement To E-Cigarettes - Forbes

The original source is Grant's Interest Rate Observer which is mostly behind a pay wall. But there must be some industry site that also has it available. In context (since the Forbes article is about the MSA), I think we can safely guess that the figure refers to the states.

Anyway this is the analog sales # you were looking for Kent & I think the source is trustworthy (if not original).
