E-Cigarettes Face First Regulations - WSJ.com
I wonder if these sources are correct! IMO Big problem if they are accurate!
From the article:
One of the biggest new requirements is that e-cigarette makers will need to apply to the FDA within two years to keep existing products on the market. The agency then will rule on applications roughly as it does on other tobacco products.

We'll have to wait for the full regs to be released, but from that WSJ article it does not sound nearly as bad as expected. It will also depend on the framework under which those applications mentioned in the article will be filed, and of course provisions for eliquid.
Totally agree, I just know how much Fda likes to approve any new applications.

On the face of it, the whole approval process would only apply to cigalikes. A battery tube isn't an electronic cigarette; it contains no e-juice within the device. My guess is only cigalikes will have to submit applications to the FDA.

I guess its all too vague, as stated above, it depends on the framework. I could see bottled liquids for sure too

A mod isn't an electronic cigarette, as they don't come with pre filled toppers. None of the articles say anything about e-juice regulation. All of the articles with the purposely leaked information are clearly referring to cigalikes, if one pays attention to the words used...
Apparently the document is hundreds of pages long. I am sure it says plenty. It is going to be an interesting day!

I don't know. I'm worried about this little tidbit:

One of the biggest new requirements is that e-cigarette makers will need to apply to the FDA within two years to keep existing products on the market. The agency then will rule on applications roughly as it does on other tobacco products.

This also happens to be the top trending story current on WSJ.com. For a tiny market, that's almost impossible to fathom.

keep in mind, the FDA will get flooded with applications and probably face an immediate multi-year backlog on existing vendors. so long as a vendor applies, they'll probably be allowed to operate as normal.

it's like the casino industry, there's so many people and places that don't have licenses but have applications "pending review" for years at a time that it never catches up.
