Decently written article. I focuses alot on the financial gains that BT can wrangle from the e-cig industry/market, but they are coming in at the end of the first decade of innovation of the market, so there's no way they can make advances beyond eGo-style e-cigs and still market to their smoker customer base.

Again and again the way it was written you are to believe that the manufacturers are making the health claims,NOT TRUE. Smokers like me who have switched to vaping are the ones that make the claims, I wish they would make that point!!
The lack of regulation has allowed manufacturers to get away with claims that these products have been proven to be safer or can help smokers quit without having to provide any scientific evidence to a government agency that these claims are true, Williams said. No, sir, YOU don't know what is in them because you cannot read the many scientific studies stating EXACTLY what is in them. Or won't, or did and ignore them because of how your strings are pulled. And perhaps talking with doctors who have patients that have quit using them will give you some info on their impact on health.
I swear these antis sound like they have some evil chip in their brains that make them spout garbage. Or maybe its the threat of money to them drying up...probably that...but SOMETHING has to kill the conscience. At the Dec 17 FDA hearings there was really only one strident ANZI that spoke. She was very nervous, clearly in the minority, out of her league entirely, and one got the distinct impression she did not believe what she was saying, or was told to say.
As much as I did not want BT to be involved in the beginning, I do believe we are seeing the shift in the message now. When the big $$$ people get involved, the rhetoric changes. Someone slap me, because I am getting a strong urge to buy Lorilard stock.
