I have been playing around with an idea for about a month now. This idea is to make an e-hookah without the fuss of using an actual hookah pipe. I'm aiming for six hoses that can all be hit at the same time. I've thought about using either a PC or Xbox power supply. Any and all input is welcomed!! Once it's complete I will post pictures of it and a link to the video of its use (probably YouTube)

Can't wait to see it. A PC power supply might be a bit noisy; dunno anything about an xbox PS. A large battery would be silent, but I imagine you're thinking PS b/c that's what you have on hand. A PS would put out the right voltage, if it's OK to run resistive loads on it, no step-down regulator needed like w/ a big battery.

Watching this thread.

Well I was leaning more towards the PS because id like it to run off an outlet an I've got more ten plenty of old PS's lying around in the attic with all my other outdated PC hardware. Lol. Essentially it's just going to be a medium sized (most likely wooden) box. With hoses running from it. I'm thinking about putting some thermal take fans In it with temp switches incase the PS's onboard fan malfunctions. But other the. That it'll be a fairly simple mod and probably cost less then 200 dollars all in

I was also thinking about making each hose VV so the user can select his own desirable voltage.

That would be sweet!

thinking about using automatic switches instead of push buttons to give it that much more of a hookah feel.

Sounds good but I would hate to tell you the downside if it get's a small amount of liquid inside it which causes it activate on its own is a downfall you will have to use your mouth over the battery connector and put air pressure and it should force the switch mechanism back into its proper position if not you have to let it dry out.

I still smoke hookah call me a hookah pro haha.

Good luck!

Couldn't have said it better myself ... I was also thinking about making each hose VV so the user can select his own desirable voltage. And also thinking about using automatic switches instead of push buttons to give it that much more of a hookah feel.
that sounds interesting but the problem there is each user would also have to have there own tank/carto to be able to adjust the voltage. i would just pick a voltage and stick to it. there is a member on here that has made a single user "hookah" that was water cooled and it just used a standard 510 style e-cig. it was pretty neat looking.
