So i'm basically dumb when it comes to modding. Simply because my brain can't wrap around electricity and how it works.

I've searched high and low for a hookah-mod but came up empty.

My idea is this.. it works like a basic hookah. I was thinking of maybe having a mister spray e-liquid mist on a large surface area atomizer (maybe a mesh cylinder standing in the hookah) to fill the chamber with vapor. Then my party-vapers and I could vape from 1 of 8 hoses.

For a power supply i was thinking a lamp cord.. and on the base a toggle and two buttons. The toggle for master on/off, 1 button for the mister, and the other to fire up the atomizer.

Also there would be a 'collection tray' to salvage the un-used e-liquid.

Any ideas on how to do this, or if it's possible?

Just to be clear i don't want to buy this, more i'm just interested in the theory.

I would picture this more like one of those Fog machines they use on the dance floor, you would need mass amounts of eliquid to supply 8 hose but thats what it would take to make a proper Hooka in my opinion, hit the switch on and all 8 start taking pulls from the fog machine at once and turn it off, hit it on take your vape and then off again. The fog machine would be the only thing I could think of that would supply enough vapor for 8 with long hoses like a Hooka has but it could be done. There was a thread a long time ago maybe 2 yrs ago where a guy showed one of these fog machines to vape from but it didn't have the 8 hoses hooked up like a Hooka. I think this is how to get er done for 8 !

EDITTED POST:

Amgine:

In this linked post, slopes mentions the way vapor degrades quickly, if you try to make it go any distance: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/modders-forum/166527-worlds-tiniest-e-cig-el-......-2.html#post2805216.

I think for this reason the e-hookah must have dual-coil cartos as mouth-pieces on each whip, and that each whip should have it's own voltage selector

and of course their should be vapor coming from the coal, and air gurgling thru water chambers, to keep the illusion of using an actual hookah

the tobacco used in hookah's is flue cured and has TSNA's.
the smoke produced by a hookah is still smoke, and has TSNA's (a hookah is not an herbal vaporizer, and even if you put regular tobacco in an herbal vaporizer it still carries the TSNA's into the lungs, unless you vape swedish snus).

In my very little experience with hookahs, I got the impression that they were not just for "smoking",
but also served as a social mechanism.

In that context you could do this -

A while back another member and I had discussed using a PC PSU for multiple power points
from one source. Other recent threads have been on the concept of a VV PT utilizing one of
the many 12V cables in a PC to supply the power.

You could take a PSU and mount it in a central enclosure with several jacks on the outside.
Then, you could supply a hand held enclosure with the VV circuit, voltage meter, connector
and switch on a length of cable to plug into the central enclosure.

You now have an electronic hookah. Of course, it would be a lot easier for a group of friends
to sit around vaping with their own PV's. But, like I said, I think of the hookah as more of a
central focus for a social gathering, and this would serve that purpose.

I can see it now. In the future, vaping has replaced smoking and become socially acceptable,
and there will be beatnic-esque cafes with booths set up around electronic hookahs.

Can you dig it? :vapor:

multi hose hookahs suck they have either ball bearings in the bottom that rest in the hole when not inhaling(they tend to stick and cause nothing but problems) or you plug your hose with a finger when not smoking(a real pain). also filtering water soluble e liquid through water doesn't sound like it will work to great. but cool idea i guess. The most functional hookahs have one hose and that is passed around.

I picture a large base that holds multiple separate circuits (one for each hose)with an rca cable encased in some larger hookah like tubing acting as the hose. This would just be a decorative mod but it eliminates the need for a larger atomizer or juice feed system. each person can choose their own attie or carto and with rca connectors they are easy to switch out quickly without rewiring the connector

Hey guys - I thought I would join in on this hookah discussion because I think it would be awesome to have "vape parties" where people can come chill and take a toke or two every now and again for flavor etc...

So I saw people are talking about how a typical hookah works - but I don't think that's really the point. In my case I want something for people that don't own any vape gear to just come lounge have some drinks etc...

My idea is to get something that looks like a hookah and that is big enough to modify it and basically stick 4-8 ecigs in it with 4-8 hoses and have 4-8 flavors.

That way you don't have to sit around passing your PV around :D

You guys think that would work? Here's a diagram of my idea: (image is terrible - but take a look at the theory - it should work right?)

Or has this been made? CAUSE I WANT ONE!

Why make something small bigger if its going to perform worst? Condensation will build it the hoses, you'll have to get plastic type hoses or they will rust. I've owned many hookahs I know they look cool but it is better to just get passthroughs if you will be sitting around inside. Because there will be no crossing hoses, no battery, no condensation, no cleaning plastic hoses, less of a hassle.
