Yes. Understand what the program is doing. It's getting the current nic strength so it can calculate how much to put in to get your desired finished nic strength. It's asking you about the base to calculate the required amounts of PG and VG to add to reach your desired base proportion of PG/VG. I think it's a great program. Best of luck. Anything really good, go ahead and post recipes.

OK I think I got it, given my nick base at 40% PG the max VG I can have is 60%, found the 0 PG, VG check box by the flavorings.

From the text above, I'm thinking your base is 60 mg nicotine, 100% PG?

Essentially, that works out to 100% PG for your nicotine base--60 mg is only 6% of the volume (a touch less), which would mean the PG is actually 94% (which is close enough to 100 to just call it that).

Depending on how much you dilute, which depends on what your target mg/ml of nicotine is, you can have a pretty widely varying mix.

Personally, I use 100% PG, 100 mg nicotine base, and end up with a 6 mg/ml, 50% VG liquid.

Also my lorann flavoring seems to contain no PG or VG how do I deal with those PV and VG blanks?

Wallace

Unless you specifically look for VG based flavoring you have PG based, so again it would be 100% PG/0% VG

What target strength and PG/VG are you trying to make? I can pull it up on my copy of the program and take a screenshot so you'll know where everything goes.

Edited to add; nevermind, I'm guessing you've got it. :)

What percentage of that 1 flavor, what do you want your final strength to be?

Assuming a starting 60mg base in PG, final strength of 18mg, single flavor at 10% the best final ratio you can hope for (according to the calculator) is 60VG/40PG

For a final ratio of 90VG/10PG, I'm calculating a final strength of 3mg with 5% single flavor

My nick is 60 mg nick base (PG), I am using LorAnn flavoring only 1 flavor, going to make 30 ml total with a finished ratio of 10%PG 90% VG. I would love a screen shot of this inputted into the calculator properly.

Thanks,
Wallace

Here you go. I used the closest I could get at 10% flavor & 18 mg target strength, which as mullet mentions is 60% VG/40% PG. Anything higher in VG gives negative numbers because your nic base is PG and no way around it. If you need a higher VG then you're going to need to buy 100% VG based nic instead. Not sure as to the rules on the classifieds, (you'd need to look at them once you're verified, or someone may know) but you might be able to sell the nic base you have there if a high VG juice is important to you.
