E juice me up calculator question

I am looking up recipes to start ordering dyi flavoring [tfa] while playing with the calculator on the bottom it has 2 boxes, target vg and target pg. I was planning to order 48mg nic 100% vg I am trying to make my juices as close to max vg as possible 3mg nic. anyway knowing that the flavorings are pg based if i put any thing more than 80% vg and 20% pg in these boxes i get a error message saying pg cant be negative. I dont understand this can some one give me insight.?

That happens to me sometimes too. I think you may have to UP your quantity you are making. Are you making 30 ml ? Or you will need to go 75/25 or 70/30. The is a website that lets you do your recipe. Maybe their calculator will let you make 80/20

It's because your flavorings are PG based. Add up the total percentage of flavoring and then the balance can be put into the PG box.

If have 20% flavor then you PG can't exceed 10% for an 70/30 mix.

i was trying to go max vg. i was either inputting 10ml or 15 just to see the differences in % . I know most things i have read say that you should make small amounts to test first. my goal will be to make 30ml to 60 mls at a time. this is what i want to make. Just have to place a order for all things needed syringes ,vg, nic and so forth.

As Marc411 explained, then since you have a total of 22% flavoring, all pg based, then you need minimum 22% pg, so a max-vg mix with vg-nic and 22% flavoring(pg-based), is a max-vg mix of 78/22 vg/pg.

Got it wasn't sure how the percentages worked in since it is pg based flavoring.
