E-juice smells of alcohol

I recently got an order of samples and I've been trying them out but they all smell strongly of alcohol and make my throat burn.

The order I got was PG/VG Mix: 40pg/60vg. Is that ratio wrong? Should I get a higher PG mix next time?

It also got me thinking of the general alcohol content in juice. I've been googling for hours but can't get an answer to this. I get randomly tested at work and would vaping cause a positive breath test? All the vendors say that Ethyl alcohol is in the juice. Is it possible to get it without Ethyl alcohol? I can't find anywhere online where you can buy it without.

I never noticed that. Maybe there is alcohol in the flavoring everyone uses. As for ratios: I use 80/20 and 70/30 pg/vg. Just remember, PG is harsher than VG but it's thinner and makes cartos last longer.

I get that sometimes, I think it's from the flavorings. You can remove the tops and leave off for a bit, most of it will disipate, (you can put a paper towel or napkin over it) place up out of the reach of kiddos or furbabies. It may take a few hours or a day or so. hth!

I'll try leaving the tops off for a day or two. The smell is so strong it's all I can smell or taste when I vape them. I've tried literally dozens of others and this is the first batch I've had the problem with.

I know Virgin Vapor's site mentions that some of their eliquids contain alcohol and some don't. You might check out the place where you got your liquid and see if they have any information regarding their ingredients. If you think alcohol in your liquids could be an issue for you then I would suggest you find a supplier who clearly states whether it's used or not and offers the option of choosing liquids that do not contain any alcohol.

I'm not big on government regulation, but I do think suppliers should post a list of ingredients. You never know what someone will be sensitive to.

There are flavoring bases done in Alcohol, these juices need to steep longer, leave the cap off over night too and this will help the alcohol evaporate, then just tuck the bottle away and come back 2 weeks later it will be very good at that point. This is why brewing juices with alcohol base when DIY'ing is best, then add your Nic ,,, just how I do it anyways

This reminds me that there has been a controversy in the food flavoring industry for many years about flavoring extracts. Alcohol is frequently the medium of choice for many flavorings but glycerine also has it's champions.

Sure does, both are good to have on hand, all depends on what you are going to make and what you like just like everything else, I have lots of flavorings and from all the top 3 flavoring companies, they all seem to have there best ones, finding them is the secret

After trying 6 different juices (all disappointing in flavor to a nube like me) I followed Devilwoman's advice and bought Virgin Vapor juice....just got it in today. I bought one 1/4oz bottle of 100% VG Tobacco flavor and one 1/4oz bottle of custom juice (I requested 'your best RY4'). Annette sent me an advanced tester of one of her soon-to-be-released tobacco flavors for my RY4. She even included a hand-written note with my order
Just vaped the custom RY4...mmmmmmm, ahhhhhhhhhhhh OMG! I think I just had a juice-gasm This is THE BEST RY4 I've tried! Annette, you're the bomb!
I'll have to give ya'll the deets on the Tobacco flavor later...right now I'm in ry4 heaven....

I got a sample pack from the absolute range. It's just out of this world. The white chocolate and raspberry is like nothing on this planet. I see no reason to ever get any juice from anywhere else!

And yes, we appear to be vaping twins!

Well I´m mixing it all by my self..and yes I also use apx. 5-10% Vodka as I use 60-70% VG and it needs to be an bit thinner.Know that I can use destilled Water instead, but the small extra TH it gives is worth all of it!
And NO you will NOT be tested postive in an breath analyzer device or so.. Trust me.. been taken a few tests as the local Law Enforcement is very keen in doing so here!! ( Their main pupose in life) ??
Just experimenting with the mixture to get the right taste and TH..;-) Getting closer, but not there .. Yet!!

I got me some butter rum with last night’s shipment. I have to tell you before I opened the bottle it said shake well before opening. So I shook it, and shook it some more. When I opened the bottle the smell was like Over Proof 151 Bacardi straight from the bottle. Well the odor was a little hard to dismay I shook it off and added that bad boy to my tank. Pumped it up to 5volts and gave it a toot. The smell and taste don’t match, I gave it another toot. Somehow the smell and taste started to match. I gave it another toot. Now the The smell really didn’t smell so bad, as for the taste I had to give it another toot. After several toos later I found myself loopy on the couch. That was so good of a vape that I didn’t realize I vaped almost 10ml in little than 2 hours. That was some gooood stuff. I can’t wait to get home from work to have me some more.
