i'm wondering what is up with coloring that is added to e-liquids, i thought it was from the flavoring before but now that i am going with my own DIY blends i am noticing that the colors of the concentrates don't or barely show in the blend. so i figure that vendors are adding more coloring because most e-liquids. is there any point to this other than just appearance? it seems really silly to me to do that because this means people just end up vaping more junk that doesn't actually benefit the vapor or e-cig in any way. does any find seeing color in the e-liquid/tank/clearomizers to be more appealing? i guess i can see that mattering to some people, but me personally i prefer to not be vaping anything that is not necessary so the clear liquid i'm blending is much more appealing than pre-blended stuff i got before.

Same thing happens in the perfume industry, usually to communicate what the liquid indicates (Liquor color-> oriental, Green->Green/fresh, Pink-> Floral). I understood it a little bit with perfume since some colors also made the bottles look cooler on the shelf. E-liquids, on the other hand, do not come in fancy bottles....

I do not see the point of it for e-juice though since most business seem to get most of their customers online. It is pointless...and yes it is more junk, just like food coloring which never made sense to me...Probably for a placebo effect...wish vendors would have an option to uncheck that nonsense. Food coloring (or coloring of any other consumable product) is one of the most pointless inventions that is also a core habit in many industries.

I know Alien Visions, my primary vendor, only uses coloring in one of their juices. They indicate it on the website as well, so people know before purchasing.

I would imagine that you could always leave a request in the ordering comment box to exclude any food coloring, if used. Most, if not all, vendors will most likely comply. If for no other reason, to try and hold on to you as a customer. :)

I agree though, food coloring should have no place in e-liquid.

Most start out clear but with age, opening the bottle, etc the color changes. You'll probably notice this with your own if you make bigger batches.

Most definitely. I think the OP is talking about, of course, vendors purposely adding food coloring to match the described flavor. A practice that does indeed happen. One juice in particular comes to mind, it's the Ecto-stuff sold by a couple of vendors. I don't think any of the flavorings come green? Nor does oxygenation cause e-liquid to turn green, lol :)

I couldn't agree with you More.

Vaping Yellow #7 or Red #5 Isn't Needed.
