Hi All,

I just viewed Mountain Vapor's site and saw an idea that I'm sure will rock the e-cigarette world. They are still in the research stage, but essentially what they are doing is testing the possibility of replacing the nicotine in e-juce with caffeine! They say that they are a few weeks away from a salable product. If they can just work out a "standardized" strength levels (12mg-18mg-24mg) of the nicotine versions performance, the entire e-cig universe will change for the better. Kudos to Mountain Vapor!

Should their innovation work and the rest of the e-liquid industry follows suit, this eliminates any and all legitimate justifications for inhibiting in any way our industry! The FDA, all public & private health groups, Federal, State and local governments along with every ANTZ-like group in the world will have to find some other industry to harass. Credit card companys and PayPal will have to relent and Big Pharma can go suck eggs. Millions of peoples lives will be healthier and longer... a literal dream come true!

Only one question: Why did no one think of this concept before?

vape ON!

I know of at least one place that has caffeine in some of their juice already and e-cigexpress sells it powdered for DIY. However, it wont replace nicotine for those of us who are addicted to it as it's a totally different drug even of it is in the same general class. Think about why a cup of coffee doesn't help your cravings, often it increases them for me anyway. The ANTZ will always be against us and no amount of reason or logic will get in the way of that.

I made a solution by soaking flavored coffee gronds in PG for a few days, strained it and mixed it 50/50 with VG. It did satisfy my cravings. Nicotine by itself supposedly has the same effects on the body as caffeine.
I did the above as an experiment just to see if there ever was a ban on ejuice that I would have something comparable to vape.

Why does this change anything? The ANTZ will just start saying that it's in the same class as nicotine and go about their business.
That's the thing though... they can't afford to say that.

The world is full of coffee drinkers, but nobody draws the parallel between coffee and nicotine.
This could help bring attention to the idea, start a discussion, and possibly lead to changes in how nicotine is viewed.

That is, of course, best case scenario.

Yeah, I have very little hope for that scenario. They'd probably suggest we drink espresso instead of inhaling caffeine and the fight would continue.

I cannot believe that one could vape enough to get even one cup of coffee's worth of caffeine. That's 100 - 200 mg of caffeine. Am I missing something here? And pure caffeine is not exactly tasty. Its really bitter. Chew up a NoDoz to find out (if they still sell it). That's 100 mg of pure caffeine.

I think this is misguided, just like I think vaping vitamins is misguided, on a number of levels. The assumption is inhalation is a good way to absorb these compounds, and in general this is just not the case.

Lots of companies have thought of this, I remember one place at least a year ago that was offering it, I will have to do some searching to find out who it was. I think a couple other places offer it as well, vapedudes, fuzion vapor.

Am I totally missing something ? I'm all for you vaping caffeine if you like, I might even try it as I am a true caffeine-a-holic. I drink an amount of caffeine daily that would leave a less tolerant person vibrating for days :) Between energy drinks and an all day long coffee habit. While I get that they are both stimulants they are hardly interchangeable. This would no more be able to replace my nicotine addiction than say if I was addicted to illegal stimulants, I could rid myself of that addiction by say, starting to smoke. I get the novelty of it, but I can't see it having any impact on nicotine use in those that are addicted to nicotine. Well I shouldn't say any ,it's possible it could help me stay up later and vape a little longer;)

I used my home made coffee solution from soaking fresh ground flavored coffee for a week. I did not have any cravings for nicotine. Maybe I'm not addicted to nicotine? Most of my vapin juice is 24mg and I go through at least 5ml/day. Drinking coffee does not stop my wanting to vape nicotine, but while I was vaping my home made brew I was just fine.

Caffeine is already available. I saw caffeine crystals (as an additive for e-Liquid) on a site I can't remember and there is also eJOLT Caffeine E-Liquid. I disagree this legitimizes vaping. It's just another reason to ban e-cigs by the uninformed public.

Personally, caffeine increases my nicotine cravings, so it would only hinder my reduction of analogs. Funny thing is I let someone try my coffee/menthol mix and they said all it was missing was the caffeine. I still prefer a cup of Jo with my vapor.
