Someone come try to take my root beer and mocha ice cream flavors away from me.

When I was using tobacco flavors, I craved cigs because the tobacco flavors weren't quite the same as the cig. With flavors, I don't crave cigs.

I just won some Johnson Creek Silverthorn. According to my memory it tastes just like Turkish pipe blending tobacco. I can't decide if I want to vape it because it tastes too much like tobacco.
The e-cig isn't the same as a cig, do I really want the same flavor to keep reminding me or do I want better flavors?

Interesting to me...I vaped all kinds of sweet things when I first started, but have settled back into tobacco flavors and I still don't miss smoking at all. I typically vape Flue Cured (AVE) as my base flavor and mix some things in with hit when I want. Otherwise, it's an RY4 (100% VG) from Highbrow Vapor. I'm sure the Green Nic dude will say that the RY4 has flavors that should not be added....but who really cares. It's whatever preference you have and whatever keeps you off the analogs.

Exactly! I know some love their tobacco flavors. I just don't. To me it's like wet tobacco leaves, not the same as a cig, and it makes me want a cig. Now that I've pretty much stopped smoking altogether, I don't want anything about my vaping to remind me of a cig. Even though I have some fabulous flavors, I don't even want the same one all the time. I get bored. I love being able to change flavors. Being able to experience different flavors keeps me happy and not reaching for the cigs.

The e-cig community is exploding ...
There just has to be tons of new vapers every day.

When we talk to other vapers, after discussing each others PV preferences ...
the next topic of conversation seems to be "Flavors"
:)

I think, over time, even the FDA will calm down and realize flavors
aren't targeting kids ... Flavors have been around since the early days
of the movement ... No issues then. Issues today only with those opposed
to e-cigs with the quit or die attitude. They just use the save the children
line because they know e-cigs pose no harm to the user or the public.

No way to stop teens from experimenting with "forbidden fruit"
Just part of growing up.
:p

I just had a thought. He asks the question of how long we before we hear of a child getting hold of a bottle of juice? Maybe we need to ask him the question "How long before we hear about a child getting hold of a tiny carto that holds the equivalent of 50 cigarettes"? Seems his product would be a tad more dangerous if he wants to stand by his claims of what they're equivalent to.

I just got a volt a few days ago and haven't had a need for an analog since. I have had so much fun trolling the boards and shopping for juice. The idea that people want to take it away scares the **** out of me. I don't smell bad any more. I feel better. I am loving this. I started smoking 21 years ago when I was 12 years old. When are people going to figure out that if we are going to make bad decisions, we are going to make bad decisions. Cigs tasted horrible when I was 12 but I thought they were cool so I kept at it until they tasted better. I tried cloves and those strawberry cigs you used to be able to get at tobacco stores, and stuck with plain tobacco. This whole issue is just stupid.

Welcome Kweb, and stick with it.

Nearly all of us started out with a tobacco flavor of some kind. Most of us who switched to more pleasant fruit, beverage, or candy flavors found to our surprise that the next time we attempted to smoke a combusted cigarette it tasted like ****.

It is this extinction of the "taste" for tobacco that I believe is the biggest strength of pleasant tasting smoke-free alternatives.

I have a problem with this comment:

For the smokers I know who have quit using ecigs, the nontobacco flavors are what helped them stay away. It shows to ME that they don't bother to talk with actual users and just want to push an agenda, make it too hard for the small companies to succeed so that big business will rule the roost!

Yeah, that's BS. Me and all my friends who smoke have tried at least some flavors. Girls are especially fond of them, in my circles, at least.
