As a concerned person of the public, I am enquiring into the advisory Health Canada has issued concerning Electronic Cigarettes.This enquiry is for gathering general information pertaining to progress made by Health Canada into the safety, authorization, and future outlook of this product in Canada.
- Under what circumstances will Health Canada authorize, and licence the importation, advertisment, personal use, and sale of the Electronic Cigarette, and it's liquid chemical mixture in Canada's borders? Please provide details, applicable costs, and documents
required.
- Because the device, and it's parts, cause no risk without the liquid chemical mixture containing nicotine, under what grounds does this fall under the Food and Drugs Act or any canadian legistlation?
- Does the liquid chemical mixture not containing cotine, fall under the same criteria as the liquid chemical mixture containing nicotine?
-If so, has Health Canada also considered the cessation until further study, into products like fog machines, and their liquid chemical mixture? This should be of concern because both operate identical, including the liquid chemical mixture minus the nicotine.
- Has Health Canada initiated a plan, that will investigate the safety of this product? If so, when will the findings be available to the public?
- If the device, and the liquid chemical mixture without nicotine, was advertised and marketed as an alternative, and, or as a recreational device, not a tobacco cessation device, and made no claims what so ever about theraputic uses, what legistlation in canada would the product fall under? Would Health Canada's postion
and determining process change?
