Hey E-Power users I have some questions:

1. Regarding Lr Atties and the E-power, is there any way to use them so the unit doesn't cut you off? Any special batteries?

2. I have a 14650 unit. I know that you can buy a tube that supports 14500 batteries. Does anyone know if there is a place out there that sells just the tube? Anyone ever use there 14500's in a 14650?

Let me know and thanks.

Even with high drains my 18650 e power cuts out on dual coils

I 'think' it's the protection circuit in the switch that cuts out, and if it is, switching batteries won't help. The imr 14500s are usually pretty high dollar and not worth it imo (I havn't tried them), but others disagree. Lithium-ion batteries and chargers

I ran across a vendor that has the protected 14500 for 5.00. I can't find the link at the moment, but post back and I'll look some more if you want me to.

You might be able to stretch the spring a little, and use a 14500 without a spacer. The sleeve would keep it from rattling but it should still work if you don't have one.

a 1.5 ohm dual coil carto pulls the same amount of current as a 1.5 ohm single coil atty...

I was under the impression that the switch read the total ohms as well, so it sees dual coils as 3.0 ohms. And the creator of the e-power made this mod specificly to run dual coils, not sure why it won't run other lr atties.

And madjack I have had no problems with 2.0 ohms cartos or a 1.8 ohm atty so best of luck with that.

There is no way electrically to determine how many coils are inside of a carto or atomizer. If the coils each had separate channels in the connector it would be possible.

The weird thing with my epower is they work 3-4 times in a row then I get a blinking light, then work a few more times. Maybe the MOSFET is getting hot

So if it can't tell the coils then it would read it at a total of 3.0 ohms right? Which would explain why dual coils have no issues, but LR does.

I think your right about the blinking light. I think it is a safety feature of sorts to prevent overheating either the switch itself or the atomizer.

I found with my e-power that when the light blinks it signals a bad connection. I also found that the threads on the body and the switch oxidize and that when I clean them it starts working fine again.
It seems that the body is aluminum with a brass threaded insert, almost perfect oxidizing system.
It would be interesting to confirm that this is what is happening.

No oxidation. It is brand new and only used it for a day. I thought about corrosion from the dissimilar metals and put some dielectric grease on the threads when I started having problems and still had the same issue.

The batteries are button top and the spring is being depressed so I don't think it is a connection problem to the lead on the bottom of the switch.

    Recognize what's on it?

All I use on my 14650 e-power are 1.5ohm atties, and have used them enough to wear completely through the nickle plating on the switch housing.

BTW, I bought my e-power as a spare parts kit from Gotvapes for $23.

Mine is starting to do it on a 2 ohm Boge carto now. It seems like there is something wrong with it.

I might have to do some surgery to look in the switch and see what's going on. This is beyond annoying

There is a known problem with the 18650 e-power switch coming loose in the switch housing, but I doubt that you would be getting any flashing light because of it.
