At home I use all sorts of things, but at work I stick with an Ego Twist and a clearomizer. Started with the Vision rebuildables, and they work well but they've all started leaking on me at some point. Currently I'm using Kanger T2s, and they're fantastic, but there are a couple features I'd like to have, to make them easier to swap to my other devices once I get home. For one, I'd prefer 510 threading to the Ego cone threads. I don't mind the skirt, because all of my devices have deep enough wells to accommodate it, but I often like to use a Smoktech Telescope when I'm out and the Kangers won't fit. Secondly, I'd really like to be able to use a drip tip. Part of that is just an aesthetic choice, but I like to use a pipe at home and that means I need something that can fit a stem.
I got an E1 Reload from madvapes that seemed to tick all the boxes. 510 threads, standard drip tip fitting. But it really sucks. Doesn't wick well at all, and every couple draws it gives me the burny death hit. The mini Vivi Nova works well, but I bent my setup in my pocket, tore up the plastic threads on the tube and dumped a load of Gandalf in my pocket. It just doesn't seem rugged enough for use in a physically demanding work environment. One of the Vision clearos suffered similar abuse and actually pried the head out of the Ego.
So, a couple questions for you fine folks:
1. Is there a difference between the E1 Reload that madvapes sells and the E1-V/Revive/V2 whatever bits that other vendors sell?
2. Is there some other clearo I don't know about with metal-on-metal threads, 510 threading, and replaceable drip tip?
This will probably be a moot issue in a few weeks when the Billet Box arrives [yay!], but I'd still like to find something suitably modular and rugged that can be easily adapted for Ego use at work and more elaborate home setups.
