Grimm Greene did a great review on the EA. (I think he likes it LOL) He shows a really good point about the floating center pin, that the mod needs to be tightened carefully so as not to push that pin up into your atty. The RSST is a good rba to use as it's center pin is screwed down from the top and can't be pushed up.

Not sure if this is the appropriate forum to post my question but here it goes,

I too am an owner of an EA Mod (which incidentally I think is a fantastic device.) My aim is to shorten the height of the mod as much as feasibly possible. The ideal height would be that of the "Wizard's Apprentice (18350 mode)" or at least that of the "Dingo."

A couple of points:

1. I prefer to eliminate the telescoping feature and only use the Mod in 18350 mode (I have a Precise ELA on the way which is telescoping)

2. I will continue to use a fuse (e.g. Vapesafe)

3. I only use the AW IMR 18350 batteries (the red ones)

My thought is too cut down the bottom post about a quarter of an inch or so and then cut one of the outer tubes to the shortest length possible while leaving a slight bit of room to adjust the top post in order to ensure the utmost flexibility in terms of using a wide range of RBAs. The next step would be to weld together the two outer tubes and simply not use the either of the two inner tubes any longer (basically put the two inner tubes in "storage")

What do you all think about my plan? If anyone can provide the exact measurements that would be "HUGELY" helpful.

Finally, if anyone thinks I am totally off-base and should go about this in a completely different direction please weigh-in as well.

Thanks so much

I don't think it would ever be WA small but couldn't you just cut the positive post shorter and so it screws down with the two center tubes meeting? At worst you screw up a ten dollar part. If you mess up cutting the brass bottom post, I believe you can only buy it as part of the whole bottom cap, which is around $40.

Personally, I would shorten the center pin first. I shortened mine and it's pretty close to having the outer tubes touch. If I went a little shorter they would. The problem is if you don't use the fuse the 18350 won't fire. There is no spring to provide tension. I didn't shorten mine by all that much (I don't have a measurement) and as it is I have to use the fuse to fire the 18350. Not a big deal for me but some may not like that.

I can screw the tubes down until they touch, screw in a penelope and vape it. There is a gap of course but you should be able to take the pin down without much effort. Less risk and you will still be able to use it with 18490's and 18650's should you change your mind down the line. If you cut the pin, center tube and fuse the outer tubes...you are pretty much stuck with what you end up with.

Yeah, I was reading back a few pages and someone in here said they bought one as well, it does look pretty awesome, although honestly I was hoping for a standard vertical genesis style atty, but still, I trust EA to make 'em awesome, only time will tell for sure though.

Apparently their gonna make two of them. One that has a 510 connection and can be set up with silica or mesh. And another that will replace the top of the EA making it a hybrid and run on only mesh.

I just got my new EA from Electric Angel on monday. I'm pretty happy I went with the EA now that I'm holding it in my hands. Great quality, nice button and the weight and feel is good in the hand.

Nimbus maybe?...Looks awesome and I love the new logo as well!

Yep, you called it ;)
Got the nimbus in a trade on here a while back but my provari just couldn't handle the low ohm dual coils very well.
Now, with the EA and an imr18650, I can push them coils as far as I dare

Your EA looks real nice. I just got the trident rba. Suppose to be an easier build than the nimbus. But im still using my nimbus as well. I have it on my k100 right now

I got the bullet to try out, lol. They were out of the trident when I was ordering :( ..
