We always hear PG/VG health concerns. Is it safe? What are we vaping and how much are we absorbing in the vapor?

I was vitamin shopping (could be problem right there), some D3, fish oil, glucosamine, not getting enough sun, more good fat, greasing the joints, etc. You know the drill. Just stocked up 15 bottles of "good" stuff at Puritan's Pride. I'm saved! :thumb:

And what's in the ingredients? VG, top 2 or 3 in amount, and PG. Found them in nearly everything including the latest trendy flax seed oil. Now, each pill could be 5-6 grams, of which 1/4 (rough guess) or more is VG? If 1 gram is 1,000 mg, that's 250 mgs or more per pill. You're supposed to take 2 fish oil/flax seed pills each day, so I'm eating 500 mgs of VG? Add to that the other "healthy stuff" I'm taking each day along side, add a few more hundred mgs of VG, some PG (maybe it's a crappy brand?).

And here I am worried about possibly absorbing 5 mls (about 5 mgs?) of VG when I'm swallowing 1,000 mgs of it? Much ado about nothing?

Edit: my math is wrong, 1 ml of water is 1 g. VG is heavier than water. So, 5 mls juice is about 6+ grams. The VG in 2 fish oil pills is probably still close to the VG in 5 mls of juice. Sorry, folks, got my units mixed up.

Not to rain on the parade, but there is cadmium in flax seed, mercury in fish (and some low grade fish oil supps) and synthetic vitamins aren't considered all that healthy anymore either. And of course if you worry about any of that, stress could give you high blood pressure and heart or digestive problems. Given the amount of pollution floating around in the air and water and the amount that no doubt comes to us by way of our food, I would say don't give any of it a second thought. You do, however, have some potential ammo to use when people say you shouldn't be inhaling pg or vg. Tell them to check their vitamin bottles and get back to you.

My mom' the hypochondriac, not me. She's always going to the doc, I try to stay far away. :)

But the last time I went in, the doc wrote me a list of supplements. I figure I'd try them so she/he (husband wife team) won't nag me. And the point of this thread? Why are some of us so worried about PG/VG? Look at the irony.

I just love to pick up something like that or junk food and show people that their eating more of the same stuff than I'm vaping, the dumb looks are priceless.

Take a picture next time. I'd love to see it. Meanwhile, I've told my mom, my aunt and other aunt that I "quit" smoking, only vape now. Their responses are unanimous - oh, you're still doing that, why don't you quit that too? Now, I have a come back. They all take vitamins. :sneaky:
