ECF Veterans please help - MKB-TS

I have been an avid vaper for 4 years, I have recently joined ECF for some troubleshooting help. I have owned a few mods (joye 510, Ego Twist, Evic, Kts, Mkb-ts) and will be expanding my collection soon (Vamo v2, Nemesis).

Recently, I viewed Bishopheals' channel on youtube on how to maximize the GGTS. He suggested to clean the mod with a toothpaste, toothbrush, and hot water. So I started cleaning all the contact points, so in my head; I might as well clean the telescoping body; in which I did (which I have never did maintenance on, except modding the switch with a brass shim; which worked out great eliminating the heating problem). After I have cleaned the whole mod (of course I waited and dried the pieces), I assembled the mod together. Now my mod is firing by it self (I can hear my carto/vivi/rsst going off making the "cracking" noise), I thought it was my kick at first but I took that off as well. I have tried putting a teflon (plumbers) tape on the bottom threads of the bottom cap, thinking this would eliminate the short. I also tried taking off the entire switch, but once I put everything together it is still firing.

Hopefully someone can help me with this dillema, as it is very frustrating. Thank you in advance for all the help.

I have heard of a similar problem there is still water or tp somewhere causing it to ground the battery and fire. Wait longer or find it but its probably somewhere you can't find easily... It's in the bottom cap where that teflon sleeve is that separates the negative post from grounding out in the base and firing the mod.

Note to self: self, don't use toothpaste and water to clean my mod. Stick with recommendations from Provape on maintenance and cleaning.

Thanks for the heads up. Try using a hair dryer on low setting, to promote drying of the mod switch circuitry.

Yeah never doing that ever again, I have ordered a sonic cleaner so I will be using that method instead.

Thanks guys for the input, I greatly appreciate. As what JR suspected, short was in the bottom cap. I forgot that the bottom cap actually has vent holes in it. Btw, can the bottom axis post be removed from the delryn insulator bottom cap insulator (I know the real GGTS can)? I tried prying it off but I am afraid to actually put a lot of force to make it come off.
